DIY of I made this stylish and lovely ball gown dress for birthday girl yesterday was her birthday
Hello hive
Glorious morning and happy new month to all my beloved friends and the beautiful people of this community. This my first post here of this month and I’m happy that God has brought us safely into the second quarter of the year.
For today I'm sharing with the community how I make this lovely ball gown dress my little princess.
Her Mum called me 4 days ago that her little daughter will be clocking 3years old on the first of April yes I remember when she was 1 year old I sew some cloth then for her birthday also she said she will be happy if I can sew for her again she prefer me to make her dress either than getting readymade. I went to her house to take her daughter measurements and also deliberate on the styles we are going for this time around.
Unfortunately before my arrival she has already packed some of remain fabric of her husband used for his suit. She I said should work with the fabric after that statement I was thinking of what I can sew with this kind fabric, on first birthday I was the one who get all the material I use for her dress on day but now working suit fabric for her😂😂😂 I don’t no what to think of and they all believe as a fashion designer should have the ideas of creativity.
From her place I went straight to the market because I have just limited time to make the dress ready. Looking for what to compare with the material that day I was tired and frustrated I can remember I got to market pass 12pm and I left there around pass 6pm just to get what will go with the fabric to God be the glory I finally get what I can actually work with at last . I got home lastly and still make sure I cut some of dress down because time frame, my maker four dress for her, that day I was So exhausted I can’t even raise my hands the next day
First dress I make for her on her birthday
Cutting procedure
I make use of this material organdy and satin material for the down part, I don’t need all her full body measurements for this style
Shoulder 10
Bust 22
Waist 21
Full length33
Sleeve
Round sleeves
I used one for the suit material for the half length
Draft out the front bodice cut and place to cut back also I added 1.5 for dart allowance.
On the down part I want it have two layer flare and gathers then after cut out the flare I think of I should make tip have a little bit curve
Sewing part
Firstly turn the front and back half cut with lining I use satin for that then join the shoulder and before shaping the side after the move do part. I stitched the flare to the waist circumference and gather on the flare and turn with lining, fix in sleeves and zipper at the back.
Here's the outcome of ball gown.
