It's been a while

I have been thinking about bringing my photography contest back to the Hive blockchain. For those of you that have been here for a while, I ran a photography contest here for a few years. It was a really fun way to get people out taking pictures and sharing them here on Hive.

One thing about my contest that is different from the other photography contests here is that I had three tiers that you could compete in. I had professional, amateur and beginner tiers, with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each tier. This was to make it as fair as possible for everyone, no matter their skill level.

I do not think I will have three tiers for the contest anymore. I am planning on having a mom amateur tier and a professional tier only. This is mainly due to the fact that I was not always getting enough entries in each tier to justify having three tiers. I also do not have any sponsors for my contest at the moment, so all winnings will be coming out of my pocket and spreading the winnings between 9 people would mean that the winners would get less.

I will be trying to come up with a bunch of different themes. I have always liked to make my contest different than the ones you have seen here on Hive. Photography is what brought me here to Hive and I love seeing the pictures that everyone takes from all over the world. The themes will range from wildlife, portraits, to pretty much anything I can think of.

Your posts will need to be made in the Photography Lovers Community. This makes it easy for me to keep track of all the posts. It will also benefit those participating in the contest because the Photography Lovers Community is curated by OCD, which means that you have a chance for large votes on top of winning the contest. There will be some other rules that need to be followed as well and those rules will be listed in the contest posts.

I am not sure if I will be doing the contests weekly, every other week or monthly at this point. I am still working on the logistics of how I am going to run the contest. I am excited to get back into running these contests for everyone here. I hope that the contests will inspire everyone to get out with their cameras and capture some cool photos to share with the community.
