My favorite photo / Ladies of Hive Community Contest #231 (Eng-Spa)

Esta iniciativa realmente me puso a pensar y buscar entre mi carrete de fotos del celular, ¿Cuál es mi foto favorita?, y créanme cuando les digo que obvié aquellas donde las poses son hermosas, donde hay un trabajo de cuidado en los fondos e iluminación y terminé quedándome con un set de fotos que hablan por si solas y que para mi representan un momento muy importante para mí y mi familia.

This initiative really got me thinking and looking through my cell phone photo reel, what is my favorite photo?, and believe me when I tell you that I skipped those where the poses are beautiful, where there is a careful work in the backgrounds and lighting and I ended up with a set of photos that speak for themselves and that for me represent a very important moment for me and my family.

Como pueden observar estoy yo detrás de mi padre como escondida, pero realmente lo estoy sosteniendo porque lo realmente maravilloso de esa foto es que capturamos la primera vez que se pudo sentar luego de 3 largos meses en cama y de presentar un politraumatismo en su cuerpo que le impedía el movimiento por su fractura de pelvis que ameritaba un reposo absoluto para que el hueso pudiera sanar.

As you can see I am behind my father as if hiding, but I am really holding him because the really wonderful thing about this photo is that we captured the first time he was able to sit up after 3 long months in bed and after presenting a polytraumatism in his body that prevented him from moving due to his pelvis fracture that required absolute rest so that the bone could heal.

Después que el médico nos dio el permiso e indicaciones, con mucho cuidado procedimos a sentarlo lentamente, y su alegría fue más que notoria, al fin se pudo ver al espejo y entender muchas cosas que estaban pasando con su cuerpo en ese momento.
Lo que pueden observar es una alegría genuina de estar vivo y de ir sanando de a poco.

After the doctor gave us the permission and indications, we proceeded to sit him down slowly, and his joy was more than notorious, at last he could see himself in the mirror and understand many things that were happening with his body at that moment.
What you can see is a genuine joy of being alive and healing little by little.

La gran reflexión que nos deja todo esto es que solo cuando pasamos este tipo de situaciones complicadas en nuestras vidas, es que aprendemos a valorar lo realmente importante, como lo es la salud.
También es mi foto favorita porque hay un dulce amargo en todo el asunto, que, aunque para ese momento no podía caminar ya era una gran victoria estar sentado así fuese con mi ayuda o la de alguien más.

The great reflection that all this leaves us with is that only when we go through this kind of complicated situations in our lives, is that we learn to value what is really important, such as health.
It is also my favorite photo because there is a bitter sweet in the whole thing, that, although at that time I could not walk, it was a great victory to be sitting down, even with my help or that of someone else.

Espero que con esta experiencia hoy tú también reflexiones y comiences a valorar mas lo sencillo pero indispensable, como el oxigeno que respiras, el caminar y tener autonomía sobre tus cosas diarias.
