Hello, how are you? This is my participation in the Hive Learners contest. You can find the information to participate in their Discord.

Is it so hard
to learn?

➢ Something I've found easy to learn:

In high school we started seeing English all at once for the first time. Most of us didn't know anything more than a few colors or numbers, and suddenly we had to learn things that sounded complex, with teachers who usually didn't have much interest or enthusiasm for their work. Sad reality of public schools, after all.

But my memory was good enough to memorize the translations and pronunciations of the words. It was so easy that the teacher and my classmates on several occasions thought I was cheating. I don't really know how it was so easy for me, since it was so hard for me to understand other things, but it helped me a lot in school.

Sure, the English they taught at school was pretty basic, and the assessments weren't as complicated as they seemed. It was just that my classmates were probably intimidated. But, at least up to that point, I managed to defend myself pretty well.

➢ Something I had a hard time learning:

I've always been bad at math. It's not that I had bad grades, but I needed to review and review until I could process what I was hearing and seeing. It wasn't enough to be given a concept and an example of what they were explaining. I needed a lot of examples, exercises and to understand how it applied to life; what it was for.

And this also applies to the other subjects attached to mathematics: physics and chemistry. Especially chemistry. I remember going after class to ask the teacher about my doubts, and she couldn't explain everything to me because she had to teach in another classroom. Then, I had to go somewhere to research on the Internet (Youtube was my salvation), see examples, until I realized how logical everything was and I was surprised that I had not understood it before.

On the other hand, some of my classmates were a natural. They didn't ask questions during class, and I felt silly asking questions by myself and having everyone look at me funny. So I preferred to go research and try to understand on my own. At least I never lost the subject matter.

➢ What this teaches me about myself:

Well, the first thing I think about is that we all have talents and weaknesses, and that's fine. It would be boring if we were all the same.

Also that I have to have faith in myself and not give up even if it is very difficult at the beginning. I have seen that I have overcome, and I can do it again. Just because we don't have a talent by nature doesn't mean we can't develop it.

He visto que me he superado, y puedo volver a hacerlo.

For one reason or other some persons gets intimated for the reason best known to them. When I was in school I was good at English too, started well in maths but lost interest at some point.

I do wish you well

And what you lost interest in mathematics? For me it became complicated when I moved on to high school.

Cheers, and thanks for commenting! 💙

There are some people that seem to be good in all their subjects in school. Some of us tend to be good in some and week in some. That's just how life is😊.
