LOH Contest #193: Nothing is too little
The joy of getting a job done and excellently knows no bounds. As a teacher and cook, I know just how delicate my job is. If you are paid to teach a child exclusively and at the end the child has still not made progress in that subject, it makes one look like a scam. Teaching on its own can be difficult as it is not just about the teacher but the learner too. If the learner is unwilling to participate in the learning process, the teacher’s effort will be futile.
Cooking at the other hand is sometimes tricky. You can have your supplier assure you that an ingredient you need will be available but get disappointed later, you may not finish on time, something might just go wrong.
A proud teacher
For these reasons, anytime I’m able to pull off a job perfectly, celebrating is a must. It mustn’t always be some big moment of merriment but just anything to encourage yourself and celebrate your strength.
I remember when I started cooking for sale newly, I had one big problem - time management. I was always delivering late because I had no assistance and I was still learning how to get some things done so oftentimes I made mistakes and had to start over. One day it was so bad that I cried and decided to stop cooking. I took a break for a week or two and started again. This time, I had all orders dished and packaged on time and my customers were even surprised.
I got amazing reviews as well and guess what? I celebrated myself. I treated myself to a nice meal of Spaghetti and peppered chicken.
Meal prepared by me
There’s really no better way to celebrate myself for a job well done that treating myself to good meals. Also, it depends on the quality of job or how stressful it was or how big the job was. Travelling to a place I’ve always wanted to go is also a big way of celebrating a job well done. Buying myself a present also counts. I made it a habit to always gift myself a book every year, for no particular reason, so how much more if I have a good reason to celebrate?
The bottom line is this, nothing is too small or too much when it comes to celebrating oneself for a job well done, be it drinks with friends, a coffee date and what not. What matters is that we see our progress and pat ourselves on the back for it.

That's a good practice.
I like the way you examine the correlation between a child learning and a teacher's skills/ abilities. Many times teachers are quick to write off students or belittle them, without evaluating their method or style of teacher.
Have a nice day!
That’s rather sad. Teaching requires a lot of patience as there are many factors involved when it comes to inculcating knowledge. Evaluation of both the learner, teacher and teaching techniques is a must as it helps recognize the strengths or weakness of the learner as well as the effectiveness of the strategies used, thereby making room for improvements where necessary.
Thank you! Thank you!
You're very welcome 🤗
I'm familiar with that feeling.
When you and your colleges are behind the 8 Ball and pull off a miraculous effort to win the day! It is beneficial to enjoy a celebration to reinforce our self-worth.
BTW, I should remind you that in order to qualify, your post should be linked in the comments section of the original contest #193 post.
