Beer Diary - Willy Wolverines vs Strawberry Mooshake

It's getting hot…
I received a message from my dad saying that the temperature where he lives in Japan has reached 35 degrees. He also mentioned that the temperature stays around 30 degrees during the night. That is too hot…

The temperature here in Vancouver is around 22 degrees at noon. Even that feels hot. It will be 27 degrees later today, and it looks like it will reach 29 degrees over the next two days.
Well, that sounds hot… I hope it doesn’t get too hot to have beer.

Anyways, this is "Willy Wolverine" from Balderdash Brewing which I had another beer from them a little while ago. This one has an interesting design and name as well.
I didn’t realize that it had an alcohol content of 8% until I started taking pictures. It says "Strong Beer" with a big red 8%, but I completely missed it 😅.

Since it has 8% alcohol, I drank it slowly while preparing dinner. Often, beers with such high alcohol content can taste more alcohol than beer, making them hard to drink, but this one was quite tasty.

Here's the hot sauce I love! Beer goes well with spicy food, don't you think?

The sauce is made with jalapeños, cilantro, lemon, vinegar, and garlic… I make it at home sometimes.

One more beer!
"Strawberry Mooshake Sour" from Powell Brewery One of the local breweries around here.

I could not ignore the design and what? Strawberry flavour?!?! I had to try it.
Since I enjoyed a sour peach beer I had a while back, I thought the strawberry flavour got to be good as well.

And yes! It was delicious and easy to drink! Being a sour beer, it has a bit of tartness, but it also has a hint of sweetness that makes it very pleasant. This is a beer I’d buy again.

I’ll be continuing to watch the anime series this weekend. I’m currently watching "Oblivion Battery." The humour in this anime is pretty good. I haven’t laughed so much watching anime.

暑くなってきましたね。
昨日、気温が35度の日々が続いていると、父からメールがありました。夜になっても30度だとか…
バンクーバーは只今お昼を過ぎたところで22度です。これでも暑いです。今日は27度、明日、明後日は29度まで気温が上がるようです。

さてさて、本日のビールは少し前にも頂いた Balderdash Brewing からWilly Wolverineという名前のビール。
これまたデザインとネーミングの面白いビールです。
写真を撮り始めてからアルコール分が８％だということに気づきました。ストロングビアって書いてありましたね。しかも赤で大きく８％って…全然見ていませんでした😅

アルコールが８％なので、ご飯の用意をしながらゆっくり飲みました。アルコール分が８％もあると、ビールの香りよりアルコール分が目立って飲むのが苦しくなることが多いのですが、このビールは結構美味しかったです。

こちらは私のおすすめのホットソースです。ビールと辛いものって合いますね。

ソースはハラペーニョと香菜、レモン、お酢、ニンニク…などで似たようなものを家でも作れます。機会があったらメキシコ料理のお供にどうぞ。

もう１つ！
Powell Brewery のストロベリームーシェイクサワー！
缶のデザインで買いました。しかもいちご味！

サワービアは少し前に頂いたサワーピーチが美味しかったので、いちご味もいける気がしました。
こちらもローカルビアです。

美味しいし飲みやすい！サワービアなので酸味があるのですが、少し甘いかな？くらいの甘さもあって美味しいかったです。これはまた買いたいビールです。

さてさて、今週末もまたアニメの続きを観ます。
只今、「忘却バッテリー」というアニメを観ています。キレのあるツッコミが面白くて、久しぶりにケラケラ笑えるアニメです。こちらも機会があったらビールのお供にどうぞ。
