Study Shows AI Might Have Better Bedside Manner Than Doctors

A recent study that looked at the bedside manner of AI in a healthcare setting, analyzing ChatGPT for empathy for example, suggested that AI might have better bedside manner than many doctors that are out there today.

We often hear that doctors are overworked and stressed with all of the responsibilities that they need to deal with on a regular basis.

If you go looking through reviews of doctors in your own area for example then you might see some who have high ratings with customers often suggesting they have great bedside manner.

For those who don't it might impact the satisfaction that people get when visiting with the doctor, however it isn't the only thing that matters as far as satisfaction goes.

For some people out there they might care more about that bedside manner than the advice itself that is being given.

Previous reports have suggested that US doctors are often judged more on their bedside manner than the effectiveness of the services that they could be giving.

Personality matters and how someone interacts with these professionals is going to be a top priority for many.

It is no secret that people want to see compassion but that of course isn't the only thing that they might be looking for.

It is expected in the years to come that AI could play more of a role in the healthcare setting.

It has already been suggested that perhaps it could even perform equal to or better than humans when it comes to certain tasks within the industry. But how many people might be open to being more exposed to AI in this setting?

Overall it is expected that it could work to go on to transform this industry as it is expected to make its way into many others as well.

Are we surprised by the results that they might have a better beside manner? Is that going to make more people open to experiencing AI along their own journey with these professionals?

There are doctors who are eminent in their professions, but as people they suck and it is unfortunate. I think that all universities in the world should include in their curriculum a subject that addresses how people should be treated, the humanity that should exist in all professions, especially in the area of health and education.

Sooooo, artificial compassion of a robot trumps no apparent compassion from a caring human being.

Yep, lover-bots are going to take over. 😝

Interesting, the AI robots are going to start by warming up to us in our most vulnerable states.
