Asahi スーパードライ ビール for #beersaturday

A few years ago, a friend told me how he drank a Japanese lager beer that tasted phenomenal.
He told me the name of that beer, but since he drank it in Japan, I knew it would be difficult to find it and asked when to taste it.

I visited some Japanese restaurants, and asked if it could be found somewhere in Serbia, but to no avail.
I knew the name of Asahi beer and the label on the bottle, but I had nowhere to buy it.

And then, in December, I found Asahi quite by chance in a market in Szeged.

Searching the internet to read more about this beer, now that I can taste it, I see that it has also appeared in specialized beer stores in Belgrade.

I was in no hurry to taste it, because I understood that it is an industrial beer, but considering that it is praised as the best Japanese beer, I certainly will.

Today on TV, I'm watching a report about the challenge that many countries have joined, "Dry January".
Until I read more about that action here on Hive, I had no idea what it was about.

So, large amounts of alcohol are excessively consumed throughout December, and then, those who drank during December abstain from alcohol consumption throughout January?
And that's what they brag about?
I, on the other hand, will brag that throughout December (as well as November, August or May), I consumed alcohol in moderation, sometimes drank a glass of red or white wine and tasted a new craft beer once a week, in order to share my impressions in #Beer community.

I don't think I've been taking in enough alcohol that I would have to give it up completely now in January.
And I won't 😀
But as always, I won't exaggerate.

I'm thinking about which beer I have left in my fridge to share with you this Saturday, and Asahi beer falls on me.

"Super Dry" for "Dry January"? Why not.

Since 1987, Asahi Super Dry has been the flagship product of Asahi Brewery from Tokyo, which is owned by the Asahi Corporation, which has a rich history and owns various brands (including some well-known beer brands).

Asahi Super Dry is brewed with precision to high quality standards, under the supervision of Japanese master brewers our advanced brewing techniques deliver a dry crisp taste and quick, clean finish.

Asahi super dry is a light, pasteurized beer that was produced for the needs of the Japanese market in Tokio, the first introduced in 1987. Beer has a clean, fresh and dry taste, moderate bitterness and fine aromas, and is considered the best Japanese premium brand.

This lager with 5% alcohol, in addition to water, barley malt, hops contain corn starch.

After pouring, it has a very thin foam that falls quickly.
The beer is refreshing, not too carbonated and dry enough for this Dry January.

Considering all the cloudy, unpasteurized craft beers I've had the opportunity to taste and share with you here on #BeerSaturday, this industrial lager didn't blow me away.

Maybe that wouldn't have been the case if I had drunk it a few years earlier, when I didn't know the world of craft beer.
This way the taste is similar to any industrial lager beer that can be found in any supermarket.

If it were July and not January and the temperature was over 30°C, I believe that I would have liked its refreshing taste even more, so it remains in my memory as an average beer, which I will no longer have on my wish list.

To all of you in the #Beer community who skip "Dry January" but don't skip #BeerSaturday because of it, Cheers.
