A World of absurdity without Music: Afri-inleo initiative 20
Music is as old as the existence of man. The early men learned to use objects to create sounds, a gift that was given to men. Gradually it evolved as they discovered other tools that gave various sounds. Music isn't just sounds, but a melody that connects as deep as a man's soul. The rhymes and rhythms speak and the soul answers. David, a man who was skilled in playing tambourine and harps played his instrument which could heal men from torment even while it gave melody. Music isn't just a flow of melody, but a friend to both a broken man and one who feast.
Imagine living in a world where music goes extinct. No traces of it, just men living and going about with their businesses?. In what ways would they celebrate with no music to dance with, or what would a sad man do when his soul is burdened with a lot of loads? It would be a world of absurdity, abnormal and of no meaning, because weirdo will rule, a boring world where one's soul finds no friend or comfort when life goes south.
If I'm given a choice to choose between a world without music and a world where music exists, I'll choose the latter(a world with music) over and over again without blinking an eye. Music has played an important role in my life. There are moments where I love to sit under a cool atmosphere with streams of songs playing in the background. This helps me rejuvenate from stress and sometimes helps me focus, sometimes it gives me this relaxation during sleep. During the feast, music set the atmosphere for peace and joy. A place that would have remained a log of silence without music.
I try to imagine a world without music. The pedestrians on a journey of silence, the bar shop dead silent, the hotels and barbering shops filled with silence, no form of entertainment, the market all saturated by chatters , the churches all dull, a world of absurdity where men live like aliens with no entertainment save the need to find daily bread. It would have been a world of no meaning, a world of dumbness, a world where depression would bring down many galant men whose heart is loaded with a burden that music would have made lighter.
I'll choose a world with music, I'll choose sounds over deafness. I'll choose a winning camp filled with noises of rhymes and soft melodies that communicate with my lonely soul. Even the list of men needs entertainment and this entertainment can only be enjoyed in a world where music is known for its importance. Music has been in existence from the time of our ancestors. My grandpa had a radio when I was still a child. He'll prefer to go sit in a corner and listen to music while taking a nap rather than chatting with people. Maybe there was some kind of peace he derived from it. Imagine him living in a world where he is deprived of such a peace, a guess all men will live only for a few years.
