Flood: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
A village known as Ankara was surrounded by two rivers, which flowed southward. It was a small town sparsely populated, located in the mangrove forest. The inhabitants were majorly farmers and fishermen. Yearly they experiences a heavy rainfall that fills the river and it became a concern for the people of Ankara. Every year they build canals but the body of water seems to grow. It was barely a month after they moved out that the water broke out flooding the entire village. They had abandoned their crops hoping to come back for the harvest if the river didn't break out from it bank , but it seemed to go against their expectations. The entire farmlands were flooded, rising above the plants and the flood remained for a week.

The inhabitants of Ankara village though sad because their crops were destroyed, they were grateful to have moved out as advised by the mouthpiece of the gods, who served as a mediator between them and the gods. They moved eastward and settled in the plains near Bethel.
What I see on the picture
I see a land that has been flooded by water. Only a few branches of tall trees can be seen above the water.
What I feel
The place flooded Must have been a village situated around a river and it should be as a result of a heavy rainfall.
It's a good thing the people of Ankara village listened and moved to a place where they could have better chance of survival.
Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, it was a wise decision they took
Surrounded by so much water they should focus on the fishery, and the benefits of water, not on land. They could have built houses above the water level and used boats.
Each environment has its challenges. If we use our brains and are creative we can use them for our benefit.
🍀❤️
Yeah, sometimes we don't know which disaster awaits us until we make the wrong decision
They must have lost a lot but their lives were important, obedience is the key and it means life
That's true, nothing they have lost is more valuable than life
Out of every disaster, there is hope. I wonder whether the people could have just moved a bit farther away, then used the water to irrigate their crops. Or use the water to provide an alternate source of nourishment. Sometimes if we're given lemons, we have to make lemonade instead of throwing the lemons away.
Thanks so much for sharing this story. Lovely read. Take care.

Yeah, there's indeed so much they could have done with the body of water. One only need to think outside of the box
