I became conversant with social media in the year 2011 when my aunty gifted me a smartphone. Finally, having a smartphone made me more introverted than I was. I could lock myself up for some days and stay indoors, smiling at my phone. However, social media has influenced me both positively and negatively in the area of knowledge. My first knowledge of cryptocurrency started on social media, I have met more friends as an introvert on social media than I have in real life, and through social media I made my first earning.

However, social media had separated families and friends, it had put a rift between real communication and true family communion especially when each member of the family is actively engaged online. Social media had also introduced fear among people through false information and this had made many depressed. It had introduced a false show of love and had made scamming easier. No wonder the need to know your customer has been introduced in almost all aspects of social media for the sake of security.

But then the importance of social media cannot be overemphasized. It had breached the barrier of distance and had fostered communication between friends and relatives in remote places. People now advertise their products on social media reaching the world at Large, businesses and video conferencing now hold on social platforms and through social media like hive, YouTube, twitter, etc. People have been able to monetize their work and this is why the introduction of web3 has been of importance.
