The Lone Dragon

Amani was a lone dragon. The only thing she remembers from her past was that her family was wiped out by humans. Her mom had concealed her in a basket during the ruins and had lived on her own. When the world thought all dragons were eradicated, Amani flew as far as she could and built a beautiful castle across the Pacific ocean. She sparkled the trees and mushrooms with her magical powers to produce a radiant home of beauty.

One Morning she woke up feeling sad. She wanted her kind to live on after her death but the fact that she was a lone dragon caused her more sorrow. She walked around her sparkling garden with her head low, worried about their existence. "Maybe there's a way to make a replica of myself," she said. "No, Maybe I'm not the only dragon in existence," she said, pushing off the first thought. The more she thought about it, the more her faith strengthened that she was not the only dragon in existence.

She resolved to fly across the valleys and seas in search of her kind. Hiding in her castle no longer felt comfortable, she wanted a world of dragons and she couldn't do that if she remained in hiding. They knew the lands and sea so well and knew where she needed to rest each night when she flew.

On the 40th night of her flight, she landed in a hidden cave across a valley. Though she was skeptical about going in in fear of what occupied the cave but decided to go in, she was on her guard and prepared to fight if need be as she walked slowly into the cave which only led her to a world just like hers. Her face lit up as she saw the sparkles. She goan and waited for response but only echoes of her groaning returned .

She held her head down with a grim face and was about to leave when she heard someone call her name from behind

"Amani, is that you?"

Quickly she turned around and saw her mum walking toward her. "mum!" She said and embraced her.

"I searched for you for years and feared you were dead, probably killed by the barbarians or eaten by a beast. Come let me show you something " she said as she led Amani to a secret world where she revealed dragons of different kinds living in their world as they flew around the city.

"Welcome home Amani " her mum said as she led the way into where would be Amani's new home.

Amani is lucky to have a mother that looked for her and glad they both recognized themselves after all.

I believe a mother can never forget her child

So Amani's mother searched for her for years, then gave up. It should have been instinct, just as Amani had that could have led her to her child. I was happy to hear that Amani found her mother and now has a home among all the dragons in a secret world.

Thanks for sharing this lovely story. Take care.

Mothers don't easily give up on their children. Sometimes they keep hoping they'll find them someday

I didn't say that Amani's mother gave up easily.

OK. No devoted mother gives up easily. Thanks so much for the clarification. Take care.
