The Use Of Social Media
I joined a social media platform when I was 17. My Aunty had gifted me a smartphone that could surf the Internet so a friend introduced me to a social network called "2go". A few weeks later I became addicted to social media interaction that I rarely had time for other important things, all effort by my parents to cut me off the social platform failed, I continued this way until I reached the final milestone of completing a particular level, then everything about the platform became boring coupled with the fact that growth set in.
Even though the addiction hindered me from engaging in other important things, I also made friends from the platform till date who had contributed to my growth in life. Addiction is bad, not engaging in it is also bad, creating a balance is the key. Social Media has its advantages and disadvantages just like any other activities. The advantages can be; addiction which takes away one's valuable time, Fake news which exposes people to wrong information, Copycatting wrong lifestyle through celebrities' perspectives in life and their style of dressing, etc.
While the advantage can be ConnectionIt connects people from different social status. Social media is also a platform where we canlearn either about people's culture, or learning in a certain field of interest, and for introverts, social media is a platform they consider a place to be free.
After I became bored with regular chatting, my level of engagement reduced until I found platforms where I make money from them and this heightened my engagement once again. I may not say my interaction with social platforms is balanced and that's because I spend more time online than I do offline. This could be as a result of my engagement with airdrops and crypto platforms. But I hope to normalize my interaction soon, probably maintain a balance between my offline and online life.
You made an interesting point. It is only fun until we don't get anymore the "reward" we are wanting to get from it. And that "reward" can be different for every person.
That's true
