Looting and boat tours. Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

The life of a Viking is full of aquatic experiences, either in seas or rivers. This is because 90% of their time is spent looting Saxon settlements, which, being located on the edge of rivers, make it easy for attackers to access them by water.

Taking advantage of the fact that the theme of the weekly community contest is Water Experience, I would like to share with you one of the many adventures that Eivor has lived during the Viking invasion of Britain.

It all started as an ordinary day in which Eivor gets up from his bed and begins to walk around the clan settlement until he reaches the dock. The morning was beautiful, there were no clouds forecasting bad weather and that made it the perfect day to attack some settlements.

A normal Viking would take his drakkar and go out in search of some castle to attack, but Eivor is not a normal Viking. He had woken up differently today and wanted to do things differently. On one side of the dock he found a boat, which he decided to board and tour the unexplored area of the river in a more leisurely fashion.

He paddled and paddled in search of his goal. Along the way he encountered some birds, which were not happy with his passage. He also encountered some fishermen, who were not hostile to him and for his sake it was better that they were.

Further ahead he found a huge structure that looked like a castle and, after paddling harder, he could see that it was in ruins, so it was not interesting. Arriving at a river crossing, Eivor used his raven's eyes like a drone to get a better view of the panorama and was fascinated by such beauty.

The journey continued and during it he found small settlements and military camps. All these places looked like points of interest, but Eivor was looking for something bigger, something that could quench his thirst for conquest.

After crossing a thick fog of a swampy area, he could finally see it. A beautiful castle that stood just above a hill that was not very high, but from afar looked very prominent.

Excitement ran through his body and he couldn't stand it any longer. With one leap he jumped into the river to reach the castle. The plan was to infiltrate from the side, eliminate as many guards as possible and then summon the drakkar and make a frontal attack.

In the blink of an eye, plans were ruined, for as he surfaced a bird began to fly making a strange noise that alerted one of the castle guards.

With no other options, Eivor, had to blow the horn to summon the drakkar, which arrived very quickly and began the assault.

The raid was successful and, although the Saxons prevailed in numbers, they were quickly overwhelmed by the ferocity of the Viking raiders. Much booty was obtained and much blood was shed.

Everything was ready to return, but Eivor remembered seeing an entrance on the side of the hill overlooking the river and decided to take a look. At first glance it looked like an ordinary cave, but his instinct as a treasure hunter told him that there was something hidden there, and so it was. Apart from the amphorae with silver, he also found a scroll that would teach him a new combat skill.

Now it was time to leave, but Eivor thought that going back the same way they had come was too boring, so he decided to take the long route and see what else he could find.

Thanks to that decision, he was able to enter a submerged temple, which had a secret entrance leading to a hidden Roman treasure. This treasure could only be accessed through a totally flooded passageway, and anyone who wanted to obtain it would have to put his diving skills to the test. Luckily, our Viking friend was a very good swimmer.

With a good loot and the craving for adventure partially satiated, it was time to return to the settlement. The waters of the sea blessed the warriors who returned victorious, while the bards added one more adventure to the tunes of Eivor, the Wolf Slayer.

This adventure is over and Eivor returns home, giving us some beautiful views obtained with his raven. Soon, we will know more about him, as our Viking still has a lot of life left to live.
