For The Love Of Rhea

The last time I visited 'Job Orphanage Home', it was an emotionally draining experience for me. I had gone there with my son who had preferred to celebrate his birthday with the children in our local orphanage and I was touched that he was thoughtful and compassionate to the plight of these less privileged ones, something that hadn't crossed my mind. But when I got there, I didn't know what to feel, the joy of visiting the orphanage was dissipating by the minute as I saw little children scampering for the little gifts we brought, but the little girl in the crib caught my attention the most. She was about nine months old, picked up from the gutter where she was abandoned by her young mother.
I couldn't resist the magnetic pull of empathy as I gently cradled her in my arms, tears streaming down my cheeks as I asked for her name.
"Rhea, she's Rhea" her attendant answered softly. Rhea gazed at me with a mix of curiosity and wonder. In that moment, I felt my heart busting with compassion and I wanted to do as much as I could for this little girl.
All these happened in May and this Christmas, I decided to get her a special gift. I know she's a little bit bigger now and older too, about sixteen months old now, so I bought her a wide range of toys. Children would always love toys right?
The journey back to the orphanage was that of joy and satisfaction knowing that I would be a source of love and comfort in a world that is uncertain for Rhea, and those other children.
Thank you for stopping by my neighbourhood.

@edith-4angelseu No doubt you are a good person, I think this text is for a contest, good luck. Best regards
Thank you so much for your kind words.
What an attentive child you have. I wonder what or who made him decide to celebrate his birthday at the orphanage.
Adopting Rhea is not an option?
🍀❤️
My son said he wanted to share the little he had with the children at the orphanage because he felt they had no one, and he wanted to be there for them.
Yes I did think of that option, my son and I are trying to work something out in that direction.
Thank you so much for caring.
A great Christmas story. Perhaps you can be a foster or weeken/holiday mom for a child?
Thanks for your entry.
You are right, I can.
