💥My Favorite Character || Mi Personaje Favorito✨⛵

A few days ago my dear friend @mandysmoon invited me to participate in this new community contest (here you can see her participation), and I had a rollercoaster of emotions thinking about the big question: "Which is my favorite anime character?". I've been watching various anime for years, and I have a long list of characters that I love with all my heart -honestly, many of them I wish they were real😭-, so choosing just one has been completely difficult for me.

Should I talk about Kakashi or Shikamaru? Dazai, Gojo, Yami or Shoto? The truth is that I always have a favorite character from every anime I'm watching at the moment, it's impossible not to, right? There's always one or two that steal our heart, and we love to see them on screen. That's why I decided to pick my favorite character at the moment, although being honest, I see him becoming my favorite character in general; and that's Monkey D. Luffy✨

Hace pocos días mi querida amiga @mandysmoon me invitó a participar en este nuevo concurso de la comunidad (aquí pueden ver su participación), y tuve una montaña rusa de emociones al pensar en la gran pregunta: “¿Cuál es mi personaje favorito de anime?”. He visto diversos animes desde hace años, y tengo una larga lista de personajes que amo con todo mi corazón –sinceramente, muchos de ellos quisiera que sean reales😭–, por lo tanto, escoger a uno solo ha sido completamente difícil para mí.

¿Hablo sobre Kakashi o Shikamaru? ¿Dazai, Gojo, Yami o Shoto? La verdad es que siempre tengo un personaje favorito de cada anime que esté viendo en el momento, es imposible no hacerlo, ¿cierto? Siempre hay uno o dos que se roban nuestro corazón, y amamos verlos en pantalla. Por eso decidí escoger a mi personaje favorito en este momento, aunque siendo honesta, lo veo convirtiéndose en mi personaje favorito en general; y ese es Monkey D. Luffy✨

There are anime that are epic and recognizable, and One Piece is, without a doubt, one of them. I had listened to it a lot of times, but I had that avoidance to watch it, which is present in almost everyone, because of how incredibly long this anime is; however, I love long anime, I feel like I can connect in a deeper way with the story and the characters, and by making them part of my day to day life for so long I create a bond with them.

And this happened with my beloved Luffy💖

I met the mugiwaras last year, and I've already watched more than a quarter of the anime, and I really adore the whole team, every single one of them are perfect and extremely significant to the story, no one is there for filler. But obviously there's one that stands out and that's the captain. And from the first chapter until now he has conquered my heart.

Hay animes que son épicos y reconocidos, y One Piece es, sin duda, uno de ellos. Lo había escuchado un montón de veces, pero tenía esa evitación para verlo, que se presenta en casi todos, por lo increíblemente extenso que es este anime; sin embargo, amo los animes largos, siento que puedo conectar de manera más profunda con la historia y los personajes, y al hacerlos parte de mi día a día por tanto tiempo creo un vínculo con ellos.

Y esto sucedió con mi querido Luffy💖

Conocí a los mugiwaras el año pasado, y ya he visto más de un cuarto del anime, y realmente adoro a todo el equipo, cada uno de ellos son perfectos y sumamente significativos para la historia, nadie está ahí de relleno. Pero, obviamente, hay uno que sobresale y es el capitán. Y desde el primer capítulo hasta ahora él ha conquistado mi corazón.

Luffy is the clumsy protagonist who loves to deal blows at all times, he may be similar to many others, but my dear captain has something special. From the very first chapter, Luffy is a lesson in motivation and perseverance, he's very clear about what his dream is and what he must do to achieve it. He prepared himself and went out into the world to pursue what he wanted, with the vision of giving his best effort and not letting any obstacle get in his way.

What I admire about him is that the story didn't start with a young man lost in life, slowly discovering who he wanted to be or how far his potential reached. From the beginning Luffy knows where he's going, he knows himself and his abilities, he mapped out a plan of what he needs (and who he needs) to fulfill his dream, and without fear of what he might find outside, he set off without looking back.

Luffy es el protagonista torpe que le encanta repartir golpes en todo momento, puede que en eso sea similar a varios, pero mi querido capitán tiene algo especial. Desde el primer capítulo, Luffy es una lección de motivación y perseverancia, él tiene muy claro cuál es su sueño y lo que debe hacer para conseguirlo. Se preparó y salió al mundo a buscar lo que quería, con la visión de dar su mejor esfuerzo y no dejar que ningún obstáculo lo aparte del camino.

Lo que admiro de él es que la historia no comenzó con un joven perdido en la vida, que poco a poco fue descubriendo quién deseaba hacer o hasta donde llegaba su potencial. Desde el principio Luffy sabe hacia donde va, se conoce a sí mismo y sus habilidades, trazó un plan de lo que necesita (y a quiénes necesita) para cumplir su sueño, y sin miedo de lo que pudiera encontrar afuera, él partió sin mirar atrás.

There are anime with wonderful heroes, who obviously go through crisis situations that diminish their self-confidence, especially if someone else hits them hard on their morale. But with Luffy it's different, since he knows who he is and accepts himself, no one is going to come and try to demean him or make him doubt about his goals; he may be very clumsy, and sometimes we would like to kick him, but we can't deny that he really knows what he's doing and that every blow he gives is for a reason.

And I really admire him for that💖 He never gives up, and every challenge that comes his way he faces it without breaking down, because he trusts himself and knows he can achieve anything he sets his mind to. So every time I watch One Piece I'm left with a sense of optimism and motivation, because just like Luffy, we can all achieve our dreams. We must prepare ourselves, get up no matter how hard we fall, learn from our mistakes and never lose our horizon.

Existen animes con héroes maravillosos, que obviamente atraviesan situaciones de crisis que le disminuyen la confianza en sí mismo, especialmente si otra persona les golpea duro en su moral. Pero con Luffy es diferente, dado que él sabe quién es y se acepta sí mismo, nadie va a venir a intentar rebajarlo o hacerlo dudar acerca de sus objetivos; puede que sea muy torpe y a veces quisiéramos darle una patada, pero no podemos negar que él realmente sabe lo que está haciendo y que cada golpe que da es por una razón.

Y realmente lo admiro por eso💖 Él nunca se da por vencido, y cada reto que se presenta él lo enfrenta sin derrumbarse, porque confía en sí mismo y sabe que puede lograr todo lo que se propone. Así que cada vez que veo One Piece quedo con una sensación de optimismo y motivación, porque al igual que Luffy, todos podemos alcanzar nuestros sueños. Debemos prepararnos, levantarnos sin importar que tan fuerte fue la caída, aprender de los errores y nunca perder nuestro horizonte.

But no matter how strong Luffy is, he knows that he cannot accomplish everything alone, he knows that we need significant people in our lives to accompany and support us. Luffy is synonymous with loyalty, he loves his crew and would give his life for them. Despite the great conviction of his dream, he never hesitates to stop the course if he needs to go help a friend - he can declare war on the government just to rescue his partner!

The friendship he offers is totally genuine, several times it makes me think, "have I had friends like that? Have I been a friend like that?". I love how he always has the right words to inspire a discouraged friend, how he validates another's feelings and listens to them carefully when they tell their story and dreams. And he loves to see a person accomplish their goals, enjoys seeing others happy.

Luffy knows that life is not about reaching the goal, it's about enjoying the process✨

Pero sin importar qué tan fuerte es Luffy, él sabe que no puede lograr todo solo, él sabe que necesitamos a personas significativas en nuestras vidas que nos acompañen y apoyen. Luffy es sinónimo de lealtad, él ama a su tripulación y daría su vida por ellos. A pesar de la gran convicción de su sueño, nunca duda en detener el curso si necesita ir a ayudar a un amigo. ¡Puede declararle la guerra al Gobierno solo para rescatar a su compañera!

La amistad que él ofrece es totalmente genuina, varias veces me hace pensar: "¿he tenido amigos así? ¿He sido una amiga así?". Me encanta cómo siempre tiene las palabras correctas para inspirar a un amigo desanimado, como valida los sentimientos de otro y los escucha con atención cuando cuentan su historia y sus sueños. Y él adora ver a una persona cumpliendo sus metas, disfruta ver a otros felices.

Luffy sabe que la vida no se trata sobre llegar a la meta, sino que es sobre disfrutar el proceso✨

And no matter how powerful and famous he becomes along the way, Luffy is a character who doesn't lose his humility, he is happy with just his ship, his nakamas, and a lot of food. We see how the great pirates in One Piece only seek gold and fame, while Luffy is happy with the small and necessary things in life, and that is something we should all learn. Happiness is in eating a delicious dish, in laughing with your friends, in taking a nap after a tiring day, these are small lessons that this character gives us in each chapter.

Finally, another thing I love about Luffy is that he never loses his essence despite the context; he may be going through a great difficulty, he may be losing the battle, he may be surrounded by enemies, but Luffy is still Luffy regardless. He doesn't lose his sense of humor, his smile, his spirit; he may be clumsy, but Luffy is really smart and when he puts seriousness to the matter the world trembles. He doesn't waste time fighting with circus clowns, he goes straight to the main objective, without drama and without overthinking too much. Likewise, he nips the problem in the bud.

Y no importa qué tan poderoso y famoso se va haciendo en el camino, Luffy es un personaje que no pierde su humildad, él es feliz solo con su barco, sus nakamas, y un montón de comida. Vemos como los grandes piratas en One Piece solo buscan el oro y la fama, mientras que Luffy es feliz con las pequeñas y necesarias cosas de la vida, y eso es algo que todos deberíamos aprender. La felicidad está en comer un plato delicioso, en reír con tus amigos, en tomar una siesta después de un día agotador, son pequeñas lecciones que este personaje nos da en cada capítulo.

Por último, otra cosa que amo de Luffy es que él nunca pierde su esencia a pesar del contexto; puede que esté atravesando una gran dificultad, que esté perdiendo la batalla, que esté rodeado por enemigos, pero Luffy sigue siendo Luffy a pesar de todo. No pierde su sentido del humor, su sonrisa, su espíritu; quizás sea torpe, pero Luffy es realmente inteligente y cuando le pone seriedad al asunto el mundo tiembla. Él no pierde tiempo peleando con los payasos del circo, él va directo al objetivo principal, sin drama y sin sobrepensar demasiado. Él corta el problema desde la raíz.

So yes, Luffy is a character that I love with all my heart right now, and that will probably stay that way for a long time, because he is one of those characters that once you meet him and connect with him you can't forget him. Luffy knows how to leave a mark in the heart of every person who watches One Piece, and not only him, all the characters in this anime do it. With Luffy I've laughed, I've cried, I've screamed, and I love when a character makes me feel so many emotions. I wish I had started watching the anime a long time ago, but things happen in their time, and this was my time to get to know him.

I still have a long way to go with the anime, but this character is a great motivation for me, not only to finish the 500+ chapters I have left, but also after a tiring or discouraged day One Piece and Luffy bring a smile to my face and inspire me to continue with my goals, but obviously without stopping to enjoy the view💖

Así que sí, Luffy es un personaje que amo con todo mi corazón en este momento, y probablemente eso seguirá así por mucho tiempo, porque él es de esos personajes que una vez que lo conoces y conectas con él no puedes olvidarlo. Luffy sabe como dejar una huella en el corazón de cada persona que ve One Piece, y no solo él, todos los personajes de este anime lo hacen. Con Luffy he reído, he llorado, he gritado, y adoro cuando un personaje me hace sentir tantas emociones. Ojalá hubiera empezado a ver el anime desde hace mucho tiempo atrás, pero las cosas suceden en su momento, y este era el mío para conocerlo.

Aún me falta un largo camino con el anime, pero este personaje es una gran motivación para mí, no solo para terminar los más de 500 capítulos que me faltan, sino que también después de un día agotador o desanimado One Piece y Luffy me sacan una sonrisa y me inspiran a continuar con mis objetivos, pero obviamente sin dejar de disfrutar la vista💖
