Edward sat down on the floor outside his father's house, starring into an empty
space, he had many thoughts and questions on his mind. His thoughts raced back to where it all went wrong, how his life changed drastically because of his blinded affection for a woman.
Edward met a girl, Precious and fell deeply in love with her, after several
attempts to win her heart, he finally succeeded. They dated for 2 years before
he travelled out of the country, he got engaged to her before leaving and
promised to marry her when he comes back.
“Babe, i promise i won't cheat on you , and also promise me you'll wait till i
get back and also put me in all your prayers ”, Edward requested and held her
hand tightly.
“You know you can trust me, I'll never do anything that'll hurt you or make
you doubt me, but please stay focused when you get there and always remember
the place you're coming from and stay out of trouble ”, She replied him and
they hugged each other tightly.
After parying for him and also rendering her own words of wisdom and advice,
Edward's mother poured oil on his head and he left for the airport accompanied
by his woman and two younger brothers.
After six years of being away from his loved ones, Edward finally came back
home. He remembered how the atmosphere was filled with joy and how he saw genuine love and happiness in Precious eyes, if only he had looked deeper he would have seen greed, deceit, and a filthy cheater hiding beneath the fake emotions.
During the six years, he constantly sent money to his family and to his lover's family for their upkeep. His brothers helped him acquire some properties, built a house for him and opened businesses for themselves. His younger siblings changed from their public school to private school, he had 3 sisters who were still in school.
He remembered the sufferings, the insults, the humiliation and mockery he
got before he finally made it, he remembered all the sleepless nights, how he became Jack of all trade, and throughout his stay there, he never for once admired any woman.
“But where was the time to admire or even go out with any woman, i had no
spare time for myself either ”, he said to himself.
He recalled how he was supposed to celebrate his 7th year anniversary with his Precious, he already got a ring before coming back to officially propose to her
in his new house and get married to her immediately, he was very happy and
excited that he didn't notice how she kept pouring him drinks repeatedly while
she drank none. The only thing he remembered was waking up the next morning with a severe headache, he managed to get up and searched the room but he couldn't find Precious, he concluded that she would be in the kitchen fixing up his meal.
He freshened up and went downstairs to the kitchen, but she wasn't there he
searched around the house and still couldn't find her. He went back to his room to get his phone, he was shocked to see only his sim card on top of the table,
he opened his drawer and couldn't find any of his documents, his land documents, properties documents all were gone. He rushed to his wardrobe and opened his box, all his dollars we're gone too. He didn't understand what was happening, he rushed back home and put his Sim card in his sisters phone and dialed precious number but it was saying the number doesn't exist. He got a message from his lawyer saying he transferred all his properties to Precious name. To cut the long story short, she forged his signature, drugged him and got his thumbprint and stole all his properties and money, not only did she steal his properties but also his heart and peace of mind, she betrayed his trust, he was heartbroken and shattered to pieces. When she was later found, it turned out she was pregnant for another guy and nothing could be done to get his properties back. All these happened just after 3 months of his arrival, his labour for 6 years was gone and he returned back to square one again.
“Why ???, after everything i did for her and her family ,why would she do this
to me ?? ”, he kept asking himself.
He turned around and was shocked seeing his mother sitting on the chair next to him.
“ I've been watching you for a while now killing yourself with thoughts,
you've been like this for over a year now and i understand how you feel ”.....
His mother shared some words of motivation and encouragement to him, and told him a particular saying that his late father says to her anytime she's
downcasted.
“ Every disappointment is a blessing in disguise, have faith our God has
something installed for you, you'll find a better woman who will love you for
you and not your assets and you're brothers are willing to help in any way they can, we're all here for you my boy”, his mom said and prayed for him.
Few days later his phone rang and one of his business partner from overseas told him how their million dollar contract that that we're trying to get for 4 years was
finally approved and already in motion and he was to come back to the states as his presence was needed. He ran to his mom and hugged her tightly with tears running down his cheeks, he told her what happened, thanked her for always being there for him and his siblings and promised to be wiser and make her proud.

Precious really did him bad. I can imagine how depressed he would have been. Thankfully, he got a job that helped him recover all he lost
This is a heartbreaking story of betrayal. Precious is nothing but a greedy gold-digger. She doesn't care whether she hurts someone.
