"This is a contest photo" El Retiro Park, in Madrid, in the early hours of the morning, on Tuesday; in the artificial pond or lake.

When Madrid is still dark

It is still dark; and a few blocks away from El Retiro, we wake up with that sometimes delicious, sometimes shocking cold that the city of Madrid offers.

Visiting my brother Juan Ramón's house, on Duque de Sexto Avenue, at 5 a.m. we can already hear the noise of transport and cars; of people who are starting to move around the city.

Nutty, Juan Ramon's little podenca dog, is already stirring, waiting for the eternal morning walk.

We love the sunrise in the park.

In the Retiro, it is still dark when we cross its spaces.

And there is no more beautiful sensation than to feel how the day begins amidst the greenery of a park that has hundreds of years and a lot of history.

Visitors, who are many, because tourists love to visit El Retiro, in the capital city of Spain, are surprised with the number of buildings and monuments there.

There is a large pond or artificial lake, where you can sail in boats or row.

The monument to Alfonso XII, which is impressive and is located on one of the banks of the artificial lake and where we occasionally listen to orchestras and musical groups.

The Crystal Palace, built in 1887 and where so many exhibitions were held that had the city of Madrid as a world center.

The Paseo de la Argentina, which is a promenade of statues dedicated to all the Spanish monarchs and was commissioned by Ferdinand VI to adorn the Royal Palace.

The park was built in the mid-17th century for the enjoyment of King Philip IV and was partially destroyed in the war of independence; today it has all the charm that made it the park of the people and royalty, par excellence.

But we love the green.

In the midst of the hectic life of Madrid, surrounded by hundreds of modern buildings, as well as palaces and historical constructions of Europe, starting the day smelling the vegetation, observing the contrast between the street lamps still lit and the sunlight that begins to compete with them, is priceless.

We have found hundreds of green corners that give a sense of peace to the soul.

Visiting Madrid implies, obligatorily, to visit this beautiful and historical park; that, for us, every morning represents the freedom of Nutty, our little dog.

But also, starting the day with relaxation activities, meditation and contemplation of the true treasure that the human being has:

His home, his planet.

Amanecer en El Parque El Retiro de Madrid -Visitando a mi hermano Juan Ramón-

Cuando Madrid aún está a oscuras

Aún está oscuro; y a unas cuadras de El Retiro, nos despertamos con ese frío a veces delicioso, a veces impactante, que la ciudad de Madrid ofrece.
De visita en casa de mi hermano Juan Ramón, en la avenida Duque de Sexto, a las 5 de la madrugada ya comienza a escucharse el ruido del transporte y de los autos; de la gente que ya se empieza a movilizar en la ciudad.
Nutty, la perrita podenca de Juan Ramón; ya se agita esperando el paseo eterno paseo matutino.
Nos encanta amanecer en el parque.
En el Retiro, aún es oscuro cuando cruzamos sus espacios.
Y no hay sensación más hermosa que la de sentir como el día se inicia en medio del verdor de un parque que tiene cientos de años y mucha historia.
Los visitantes, que son muchos, pues al turista le encanta visitar El Retiro, en la ciudad capital de España; quedan sorprendidos con la cantidad de construcciones y de monumentos que hay.
Allí está un gran estanque o lago artificial, donde puedes navegar en barcas o hacer remos.
El monumento a Alfonso XII, que es impresionante y que está situado en una de las orillas de ese lago artificial y donde ocasionalmente escuchamos orquestas y grupos musicales.
El Palacio de Cristal, construido en el año 1887 y en el que se realizaron tantas exposiciones que tenían a la ciudad de Madrid como centro mundial.
El paseo de la Argentina, que es un paseo de estatuas dedicadas a todos los monarcas españoles y que fue encargado por Fernando VI para adornar el Palacio Real.
El parque, fue construido a mediados del siglo XVII para disfrute del Rey Felipe IV y que fue parcialmente destruido en la guerra de la independencia; hoy en día tiene todo el encanto que lo convirtió en el parque del pueblo y de la realeza, por excelencia.
Pero a nosotros nos encanta el verde.
En medio de la agitada vida de Madrid, rodeados de cientos de modernos edificios, así como palacios y, construcciones históricas propias de Europa; comenzar el día oliendo lo vegetal, observando el contraste entre las farolas encendidas aún y la luz del sol que comienza a competir con ellas; no tiene precio.
Hemos encontrado cientos de rincones de verdes que le imprimen una sensación de paz al alma.
Visitar Madrid implica, obligatoriamente, visitar este hermoso e histórico parque; que, para nosotros, todas las mañanas representa la libertad de Nutty, nuestra perrita.
Pero también, comenzar el día con actividades de relajación, meditación y contemplación del verdadero tesoro que tiene el ser humano:
Su hogar, su planeta.
