Indulge Me In A Good Movie||LOH #234
Previously, I'd be torn if I had to choose between movies and books. I enjoy them both, at least for the sake of letting you shift into the world of imagination. Letting you unwind and feel emotions as the characters play out their roles, they both work out fine.
But now, I think movies won.
One of my biggest challenges reading books is that I need to read for days to be able to complete a book and get the sense of everything in it. And due to how busy daily activities are, sometimes I read for a few minutes, or even an hour or so. So each time I come back to the book, I forget what I read the other time and I have to go back and refresh my memory.
I have this book I downloaded recently, it's been like weeks now and I haven't finished the first 10 chapters. Also, I hardly concentrate on books for such a long time without getting bored, especially when I read a soft copy. But with hardcopies, the feeling is always different.
The fact that I can multitask even while seeing a movie is interesting. Most times I just use my little phone stand in the kitchen, connect my phone to an MP3 player, and see one or two episodes while cooking. It can be that convenient, unlike books where I need to not skip any full stop.
I figured out I'm mostly very excited to see a new movie when I download them, than to read a book. I'm more fascinated with what I see than what I read. Seeing the characters in their roles helps me engage more in that 2 hours of entertainment. Let's not forget the music and soundtrack which adds to the beauty of every one of their spoken words or actions.
Personally, movies let me feel more emotions than books. I can read a horror story comfortably and yeah, it's just a story, but guess who can't watch horror movies?
I appreciate authors who try their best to make those lines and every word count. But it just takes a good actor to get you rolling on the floor laughing, hating on a character, crying your eyes out, or even falling in love with a certain Lee Min Ho that isn’t even aware of your existence.
Movies are the easiest way I can relax with less brain work. It's entertainment after all, one that can be shared with family and friends. There's this euphoric feeling discussing a great movie with friends. Everyone has their own piece of exciting moments in the movie, and sometimes mimicking the characters makes it all fun.
Having a chance to also learn a lot just about anything tops the gains. Seeing how cultures of different people are being played out, one or two life lessons, and even some motivational lines from certain actors keeps me bubbling with excitement.
Books are great. A lot of people here will go to the moon and back for a good storyline. But indulge me in a good movie as well, and I’ll probably not take my eye off that screen. I haven't see a good movie in a long time by the way, drop some recommendations if you please.
See ya!

You're welcome! :)
I share in your view. I may devote 20- 30 minutes in reading a book due to other busy schedules but watching a movie for 2 hours will afford me the opportunity to multitask there by sharing the time and achieving more.
And that's one of the thing I love about watching movies. Thanks for sharing your view.
Absolutely 💯! My pleasure.
I agree with you, it's touching to discuss a good film with friends, as everyone has their own perception of it, and yes, sometimes it's fun to imitate the characters, thanks for sharing your experiences,

Honestly, I think both books and movies have their charm. Movies give that instant emotional punch with visuals, music, and amazing acting. You feel everything in just 2 hours. But books? They let you dive deeper, imagine the world your way, and connect slowly with characters. As for me, books over movies!
I think I just read the same thought of what an entry said, but for books, not movies 😅 both are great for their lovers.
