entry smash 365: i lost my head at the Seamen's Memorial Hall
Minnehallen, The Seamen's Memorial Hall is a pyramid on the coast just outside of Stavern proper. it commemorates all who lost their lives at sea in Norwegian waters during the First and the Second World War regardless of nationality. inside are works of art and plaques of all the names of those who perished and the ships they were aboard. being surrounded by all the names of the lives lost is a somber affair
but visiting outside on a sunny May evening is altogether different. life has gone on over the years and the mood is that the place is well suited as a peaceful place to rest, not only for names from the past but even more so for present day visitors sitting and enjoying the delightful springtime view of the sea and islands.
and of course it's an opportunity for some light-hearted headless shadow hunting.(my shadow is headless, the hunting is very much mindful)
both sides of the stairs up to the entrance of the monument have large cauldrons which add formality and dignity to the exterior as a visitor is climbing the stairs
and now the dilemma of choosing which image is the best contest entry...
any suggestions?
thanks a lot

The shadow in the last picture is interesting, it looks like there is a mysterious figure.
glad you like it

I like the headless shadow! But the second shadow photo is great too. It's hard to choose.
