A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words: Martial dancing (ENG-ESP)

An amateur photographer goes in search of a source of inspiration to capture them with her camera lens. I feel she will find her muse where she least imagines it.

In search of satisfaction and pleasure in life, Agatha Moreira, a sixty-three-year-old amateur photographer with silver hair and eyes full of history, decided to resume her passion for photography. So she went to her favorite park, looking for inspiration in the flowers, the landscape or the people passing by. What she didn't imagine was that she would find something much more exciting.

With her camera in hand, she stopped to watch a group of young people practicing martial arts. Fascinated by the harmony of the music of the drums being played by some of the men in the park and the martial artists' pounding of bare feet on the ground, she stood still, watching it all. Then, a young man captured her attention with his beautiful demonstration of capoeira, which reminded her of her childhood in her native Brazil, where it is common to practice this type of martial art that mixes fighting, dance and music.

—Extraordinary!— shouted the people around the martial artists, but Agatha paid no attention to them, she was focused on the martial dances.

Without moving, the photographer followed the faint golden light of the sunset that enveloped the young capoeirista as he swayed his body from side to side. Suddenly, the martial artist dodged a blow from another of his teammates and the photographer was perplexed by his unexpected move. A one hundred and eighty-degree kick caused everyone around to let out an exclamation of surprise, demonstrating the artist's strength, speed, flexibility and balance.

—Bravo!— shouts of exclamation were heard again from the audience, who were completely impressed with the martial acrobatics of the youngsters, as was Agatha, who had not been able to take any snapshots due to her great emotion at what she was witnessing.

She remained standing, absorbed by the magic of that unique moment, knowing that this experience would be more intense if she lived it to the fullest.

Una fotógrafa aficionada va en busca de una fuente de inspiración para capturarlas con el lente de su cámara. Siento que encontrará la musa donde menos lo imagina.

En busca de la satisfacción y el placer de la vida, Ágatha Moreira, una fotógrafa aficionada de sesenta y tres años, con cabellos plateados y ojos llenos de historia, decidió retomar su pasión por la fotografía. Así, llegó a su parque favorito, buscando inspiración en las flores, el paisaje o en las personas que pasaban. Lo que ella no imaginaba, era que encontraría algo mucho más emocionante.

Con su cámara en mano, se detuvo a contemplar a un grupo de jóvenes que practicaban artes marciales. Fascinada por la armonía de la música de los tambores que tocaban algunos hombres en el parque y el golpeteo de pies descalzos contra el suelo de los artistas marciales, ella se quedó inmóvil observando todo aquello. Entonces, un joven capturó su mayor atención, por su hermosa demostración del capoeira, lo que la hizo recordar su niñez en su natal Brasil, en donde es usual que se practique este tipo de arte marcial que mezcla lucha, danza y música.

—¡Extraordinario!— gritaban las personas alrededor de los artistas marciales, pero Ágatha no les prestaba atención, ella estaba concentrada en las danzas marciales.

Sin moverse, la fotógrafa siguió la tenue luz dorada del atardecer que envolvía al joven capoeirista mientras balanceaba su cuerpo de un lado a otro. De repente, el artista marcial esquivó un golpe de otro de sus compañeros y la fotógrafa quedó perpleja ante su inesperado movimiento. Una patada de ciento ochenta grados provocó que todos alrededor emitieran un exclamación de sorpresa, quedando demostrados la fuerza, la velocidad, la flexibilidad y el equilibrio del artista.

—¡Bravo!—volvían a escucharse los gritos de exclamación del público, quienes estaban completamente impresionados con las acrobacias marciales de los jóvenes, al igual que Ágatha, quien no había podido tomar ninguna instantánea debido a su gran emoción por lo que presenciaba.

Ella permaneció de pie, absorbida por la magia de aquel momento único, sabiendo que esta experiencia sería más intensa viviéndola plenamente.
