| Туманы у нас в городе бывают не так уж часто, несколько раз в год. Обычно – ранним утром, и, когда я выхожу из дома уже всё рассеивается. Поэтому, когда случается длительный туман, я запоминаю такие дни и делаю фотографии. | Fogs in our city do not happen very often, several times a year. Usually - early in the morning, and by the time I leave the house everything has already dissipated. Therefore, when there is a long fog, I remember such days and take photographs. |
| Так было 31 октября 2023 года. Особенно эффектно это выглядело, так как стемнело. Фонари превратились в «пушистые» светящиеся шары. За фонарями – большой район из многоэтажных домов. Но сквозь туман совсем чуть-чуть проглядывают окна двух ближайших многоэтажек. Похоже, на мерцающие на небе звезды. Совсем не видно контуры домов. | This happened on October 31, 2023. It looked especially impressive as it got dark. The lanterns turned into “fluffy” glowing balls. Behind the streetlights is a large area of multi-storey buildings. But the windows of the two nearest high-rise buildings are barely visible through the fog. It looks like stars twinkling in the sky. The outlines of the houses are not visible at all. |

Why don't the street lights work?
Country has run out of money, lack of maintenance, electricity, 30 years into political change here, they simply don't repair street lights when requested we have not had any in almost a year.
Oh, how sad this is.
I have an idea of South Africa as a fairly prosperous country. Apparently this is 30-40 years ago.
What was built on rotten ideology, only idiots destroy a previous generations labour intensive work.
Then accept leaders that steal directly from the people to enrich themselves and cadres for the first 30 years of democracy.
