Neoxian prompt#28.......The Gift of Friendship.

Glory and Precious had been friends right from childhood. They liked doing things together and one would always see them together.

Glory was an orphan, who lived with one of her aunts while Precious stayed with her parents. Precious’s parents were well to do, so she always helped her friend out with things she could not get.

Glory was an easy going type that everyone wanted to mingle with while Precious was a spoilt brat. But when it comes to Glory, Precious will be humble and listen to what she says.

Everything was going well with the two friends and most people envied their relationship. Glory would always help Precious to do her assignments and other school stuff because she was more intelligent than Precious.

In their final year in the university, Glory's aunt had a vital accident that claimed her life. Glory was devastated and couldn't concentrate on her studies.

“What will I do now that my only sponsor is gone?” Glory lamented.

“What do you mean?” Precious inquired.

“You know I have not paid my tuition and this is my final year, is this how I'm going to drop out after all these years?” Glory cried.

“Don't worry I'm here with you. Everything will be fine.” Precious said as she hugged her tightly to comfort her.

Things were not the same for Glory again even though her friend was helping out in her own little way.

“Precious, exams are starting two days from now and I haven't paid my tuition, you know I will not be allowed to write.” Glory said with tears in her eyes.

“I know, I told my dad about it and he did not give me any answer.” Precious added. But don't worry you will write the exams.

When Precious got home that day, she did not meet her parents at home so she went to her dad's room and took out a hundred thousand naira (100,000) from his drawer.

The next day in school, Precious handed a hundred thousand naira to Glory and asked her to go and pay so that she will write exams tomorrow.

“Ah! Precious, where did you get this money from?” Glory asked.

“I took it from my dad's drawer.’’ Precious replied.

“You did what?” Glory screamed.

“Do you want to write exams or not?” Precious asked.

“I want to, but this is not the right thing to do,” Glory replied.

“Go and pay the money and forget about my dad. We will settle things later.

My happiness is that you will write the exams now.” Precious concluded.

After their final paper, Glory went to Precious and hugged her tightly with tears in her eyes.

“I won't have been a graduate if not for you” Precious said.

“What are friends for? I'm glad we made it through” Precious replied.

Years later, Glory became an entrepreneur since she studied Business Management in school while her friend Precious was working in her father's company.

The two friends became successful in their life and they were happily married with kids.

Glory was grateful to her friend for helping her out when she needed help the most.

Though she did the wrong thing, it was for a good cause, and I will forever be grateful for that.

Precious went beyond the role of a friend to steal from her father to help Glory. That could have caused major issues with her father but seeemingly it did not. Precious is a true friend to go that far. Luckily, the risk was worthwhile.

Yes she is a real friend. She only did that so that her friend could graduate. Thank you for reading.

That was a big risk precious took...but then, glad it didn't result to something serious between her and her Dad
Glory's ambition was later fulfilled and now she has her family with kids.. really a nice turn out from a wrong deed

Friends who go all the way to help out are so rare. Precious had a good motive for stealing the money for her friend, even though the act is not an encouraging one. But like she said, "What are friends for?"

What a risk precious took. Their friendship is admirable, I'm not sure I'd able to take a risk like that for a friend myself
