Hello dear alien friends, I hope you are feeling great, I was working on a fan art for several days, examining the new designs that have appeared in Splinterlands, so I found one that I liked to draw and print my own style on. For this weekly contest 299 I want to show how I made Muspelheim Demon, a cyclops monster like the giants that existed in ancient times, with this idea in mind I took inspiration from the story of the Odyssey, where the giant cyclops son of Poesidon, known as Like Polyphemus, this giant was able to eat almost all of King Odysseus's crew, but with his cunning he was able to escape in the end. Here I show step by step how I made this fan art in a realistic style in terms of the finish, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos aliens, espero que se encuentren súper bien, estuve trabajando en un fan art por varios días, examinando los nuevos diseños que han aparecido en Splinterlands, así que encontré uno que m gustó para dibujar e imprimirle mi propio estilo. Para este concurso semanal 299 quier mostrar como hice a Muspelheim Demon, un monstruo cíclope como los gigantes que existían en la antigüedad, con esta idea en mente tomé la inspiración del relato de la Odisea, donde se describe al cíclope gigante hijo de Poesidón, conocido como Polifemo, este gigante fue capaz de comerse a casi toda la tripulación del rey Odiseo, pero este con sus astucia al final pudo escapar. Aquí muestro paso a paso como hice este fan art de estilo realista en cuanto al acabado, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

For this drawing I used a gray cardboard called canson, with this background my illustration would look very realistic. I made a sketch of a humanoid creature but with its deformed limbs, I made its arms bigger than its legs and with a huge eye that looks like its head. That huge eye I began to paint the iris so that it looked green, also mixing it with other tones. Then I painted the cornea white, but adding shadow around the edges to give it volume and realism.

Utilicé para este dibujo una cartulina llamada Canson color gris, con este fondo mi ilustración se vería muy realista. Hice un boceto de una criatura humanoide pero con sus extremidades deformadas, hice más grande sus brazos que sus piernas y con un enorme ojo que parece la cabeza. Ese enorme ojo comencé a pintar el iris para que se viera de color verde, mezclando también con otros tonos. Luego pinté la cornea de color blanco, pero agregándole sombra por los bordes para darle volumen y realismo.

Then I added other shades along the right edge of the eye to give it that shadowed look, which indicates that the eye stands out a lot. From there I began to paint the body, first of all with white, I wanted to mark from the beginning all those areas of the drawing that would be illuminated, the rest would be to darken and give different tones to the skin.

Luego agregué otros tonos por el borde derecho del ojo para darle ese aspecto de estar sombreado, lo que indica que el ojo sobresale mucho. A partir de ahí comencé a pintar el cuerpo, en primer lugar con color blanco, quería marcar desde un principio todas aquellas zonas del dibujo que estarían iluminadas, el resto sería oscurecer y dar tono diferentes a la piel.

As I progressed in the drawing little by little each of its parts appeared, being a demonic monster I made its teeth very sharp to intimidate.

A medida que avanzaba en el dibujo poco a poco iba apareciendo cada una de sus partes, al ser un monstruo demoníaco hice sus dientes muy afilados para intimidar.

In the same way I progressed until I made the legs, in the places where the muscles are supposed to go I made all of them look deformed, and I also added small eyes on the men, on the legs and knees and arms. The predominant color was red wine red.

De la misma forma fui avanzando hasta hacer las piernas, en los lugares donde se supone que van los músuculos hice que todos estos se vieran deformados, así también agregué pequeños ojos en los hombres, en las piernas y rodillas y brazos. El color predominante era el rojo vino tinto.

So that the drawing would not remain in the air and thus have more volume, I painted a mountain where this monster would be perched, another detail that I added was abundant hair, here I was inspired by another creature that appeared in the cinema a long time ago, in the movie Clash of the Titans from 1981. As you can see, I took good references to make this monster very unique and terrifying. Finally, with a brush I began to blend all the colors, this helps them mix better and the finish is more realistic.

Para que el dibujo no quedara en el aire y así tener mas volumen, pinte una montaña donde estaría posado este monstruo, otro detalle que agregué fue abundante pelo, aquí me inspiré en otra criatura que salió en el cine hace mucho tiempo, en la película Furia de Titanes de 1981. como pueden darse cuenta, tome buenas referencias para poder hacer a este monstruo bien único y aterrador. Por último con un pince comencé a difuminar todos los colores, esto ayuda a que se mezclen mejor y el acabado quede más realista.

Así quedo esta ilustración fan art del monstruo Muspelheim Demon, que les parece el resultado? creo que luce muy realista, dentro de su propio estilo, quise agregar pequeños hombres aterrados corriendo bajo sus pies, pero creo que no me iba alcanzar el espacio, de manera que pienso que así quedó genial.
