Hello dear friends, I hope you are feeling very well, I was a little busy with work here at home, but I have been able to have some free time in which I could do something new, this time to participate in the weekly Splinterlands contest, I have I made a small necklace carved in wood with the effigy of a falcon. This was because of all the cards I could see, I chose the character Pallus, a powerful, very rapacious humanoid bird with a very threatening look. I made the necklace I made in the shape of a symbol like an effigy, I used few materials and I hope you like it. Let's get started!

Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, estuve un poco ocupado con trabajos aquí en mi casa, pero he podido tener un tiempo libre en el cual pude hacer algo nuevo, en esta oportunidad para participar en el concurso semanal de Splinterlands, he realizado un pequeño collar tallado en madera con la efigie de un halcón, esto ha sido así porque de todas las cartas que pude ver, escogí al personaje Pallus, una poderosa ave humanoide muy rapaz con una mirada muy amenazadora. El collar que he realizado lo hice en forma de símbolo como una efigie, utilicé pocos materiales y espero que les guste. Comencemos!

I used reddish mahogany wood, very soft to make small carvings such as bracelet or necklace pieces. The wood measures 5 centimeters wide by 2.8 centimeters high with a thickness of 6 millimeters. On the surface of the wood I made the silhouette of a falcon using a black wax pencil and to shape it I used a stationery cutter.

Utilicé madera caoba color rojizo, muy suave para realizar tallados pequeños como para piezas de pulsera o collares, la madera mide 5 centímetros de ancho por 2,8 centímetros de alto con un grosor de 6 milímetros. Sobre la superficie de la madera hice la silueta de un halcón utilizando un lápiz de color negro de cera y para darle forma utilicé un cúter de papelería.

I started cutting along the upper sides, little by little until I reached the line of the drawing, sometimes to make the cut safer I used the sandpaper a little, and then I cut again little by little until I reached the limit marked by the line of the drawing .

Comencé cortando por los costados superiores, poco a poco hasta llegar a la línea del trazo, en ocasiones para hacer el corte más seguro pasaba un poco la lija, y después volví a cortar poco a poco hasta llegar al límite marcado por la línea del dibujo.

Using the same previous steps I shape it on the other sides, continuing especially in the upper part of the peak, then continuing in the lower part. Every piece, no matter how small it is, always presents some difficulty at some point, this piece was undoubtedly in the part of the beak, this type of knife is not very good for making these types of curved lines so I had to Be more careful not to damage the wood.

Utilizando los mismos pasos anteriores le voy dando forma por los otros costados, siguiendo especialmente en la parte superior del pico, siguiendo luego en la parte inferior. Toda pieza, por más pequeña que esta sea, siempre presenta algo de dificultad en algún punto, esta pieza sin duda fue en la parte del pico, esta clase de navaja no es muy buena para hacer estas clases de líneas curvas por lo que tuve que ser más cuidadoso para no estropear la madera.

Then I shape what would be the neck feathers, making some small cuts with the knife, with the pencil I make other lines to make each cut larger and so that a relief can be seen between the feathers. Then I give the falcon's beak a more stylized shape so that it looks very threatening.

Después le doy forma los que sería las plumas del cuello, haciendo unos pequeños cortes con la navaja, con el lápiz hago otras líneas para hacer mas grande cada corte y que se vea un relieve entre las plumas. Despues le doy una forma más estilizada al pico del halcón para que luzca biena amenazador.

Having the piece ready, it only needed a little sandpaper, so I gently ran the sandpaper sheet over the entire piece until it was polished and smooth, and then gave it a bath of protective varnish, placed a wire for the necklace and that was the end.

Al tener la pieza lista solo le faltaba un poco de lija, así que pase suavemente la hoja de lija por la pieza entera hasta dejarla pulida y suave, para luego darle un baño de barniz protector, colocar un alambre para el collar y así finalizar.

This is how the original piece turned out, what do you think of the result? I really liked the wood on this occasion, I visualized in this way and in this color being able to make this character, although in the original design of the card his plumage is gray. But I liked the rest how it turned out, although it was small, I was able to make its eye with the tip of the knife and also with a sharp wire, another detail that I liked was carving the beak apart from the rest so that it could be seen better. Así ha quedado la pieza original, qué les parecel el resultado? LA madera en esta oportunidad me gustó mucho, visualizaba de esta maner ay de este color el poder realizar a este personaje, aunque en el diseño original de la carta su plumaje es gris. Pero el restoi me gustó como quedó mucho, aunque era pequeño, pude hacer su ojo con la punta de la navaja y también con un alambre afilado, otro detalle que me gustó fue tallar el pico a parte del resto para que se notara mejor.
