¡Hola querida Comunidad! Espero tengan un excelente día. En estos días de calor y bastante sol por acá, pensé realizar un sombrero con tela reciclada. Así podré participar en el concurso costura tus jeans! Este me servirá para cuando salga y protegerme del sol. Me llevó algunas horas realizarlo, pues como ustedes saben me gusta bordar, y le hice este diseño de flores pequeñas para que se vea mucho mejor.

Por acá te explico cómo lo hice y los materiales que necesité, pues es una guía, tu si quieres hacer uno, puedes lograrlo con los materiales que tengas a la mano.

Hello dear Community! I hope you are having a great day. In these hot and sunny days around here, I thought I would make a hat with recycled fabric.This will allow me to participate in the sew your jeans contest! This will serve me when I go out and protect me from the sun. It took me a few hours to make it, as you know I like to embroider, and I made this design of small flowers to make it look much better.

Here I explain how I did it and the materials I needed, because it is a guide, if you want to make one, you can do it with the materials you have at hand.

Hilo de bordar
Hilo, aguja, tijeras

Procedimiento:

En primer lugar, trace los patrones, los cuales son tres piezas. Un circulo, un rectángulo pequeño, que son cortados en 4 piezas, un rectángulo que se redondea un poco, dos piezas.

Procedure:

First, trace the patterns, which are three pieces. A circle, a small rectangle, which are cut into 4 pieces, a rectangle that is rounded a little, two pieces.

De la tela de jean, y también de la de forro (aunque puede ser reversible), corte todas las piezas, y también la tela adherente.

From the jean fabric, and also from the lining fabric (although it can be reversible), cut all the pieces, and also the adherent fabric.

A la tela de forro le pegué la tela adherente con calor, y posteriormente las uní de la misma forma que la pieza principal en jean. Uní los 4 rectángulos y luego los cosí a máquina con puntada recta a circulo. El procedimiento es el mismo con ambas telas.

To the lining fabric I glued the adhesive fabric with heat, and then joined them in the same way as the main jean piece. I joined the 4 rectangles together and then machine stitched them with a straight stitch in a circle. The procedure is the same with both fabrics.

A esta pieza también cosí la grande luego de unirlas, formando el sombrero.

To this piece I also sewed the large piece after joining them together, forming the hat.

Empecé a bordar un hermoso diseño con flores pequeñas y fáciles de bordar. Luego hice puntadas dispersas de hilván con hilo de bordar de colores entremetidos en las flores.

I started embroidering a beautiful design with small, easy to embroider flowers. Then I did scattered basting stitches with colorful embroidery thread tucked into the flowers.

Al terminar de bordar uní ambas partes por el derecho y pasé a máquina por todo el alrededor, corté los excesos de tela. Y dejé un espacio ´para dar vueltas.

When I finished embroidering, I joined both parts on the right side and I machine stitched all around, cut off the excess fabric. And I left a space for turning.

Al girar toda la pieza al derecho, pasé puntada recta desde el orillo, e hice costuras similares guardando la misma distancia hasta llegar al nacimiento de la solapa y lo dejé.

When I turned the whole piece right side out, I went straight stitch from the selvedge, and made similar seams keeping the same distance until I reached the birth of the flap and left it.

Así quedó este interesante sombrero reversible, con tela de jean que será muy útil, en los días de playas, caminatas o compras.

This is how this interesting reversible hat turned out, which will be very useful for days spent on the beach, hiking or shopping.

Les puedo comentar, que inicié este proyecto y lo tenía con la pieza bordada a mano, pero cuando ví lo del concurso me animé a terminarlo, aunque he tenido algunos problemas de salud, me ayudó a salir de la zona de confort y concluir el proyecto. Gracias por la oportunidad.
