Greetings friends. Today I would like to comment a little personal post about Hive. I have a little more than three years in the Blockchain; in fact, I will soon be 4 years here and I have had many, many experiences here in Hive, hence this post, tell you a little about my experience here and how much can be done in this cool little world.

I will talk about three favorite aspects of Hive: Blogging, its Marketplace/Wallet and its Community.

Saludos amigos. El día de hoy me gustaría comentar un post un poco personal sobre Hive. Tengo poco más de tres años en la Blockchain; de hecho, dentro de poco cumpliré 4 años por acá y he tenido muchas, pero muchas vivencias aquí en Hive, de ahí esta publicación, hablarles un poco sobre mi experiencia aquí y sobre lo mucho que se puede hacer en este mundillo tan genial.

Les hablaré sobre tres aspectos favoritos de Hive: El Blogging, su Mercado/Wallet y su Comunidad.

Blogging and content creation

You see, I knew Hive as a “Page” where you could have a blog and generate income with it. But it is a very vague concept to define what is actually content creation on the Blockchain.

You see, Hive is an ecosystem, where there are a multitude of DApps with which you can create both written and audiovisual content. My favorites are Peakd.com and 3speak.tv. In the first one you can have your blog and create written posts, accompanied by images or GIFs. On the other hand, in 3speak.tv you can create audiovisual content, as I mentioned before, videos to be understood.

Verán, conocí Hive como una "Página" donde se podía tener un blog y generar ingresos con este. Pero es un concepto muy vago para definir lo que es en realidad la creación de contenido en la Blockchain.

Verán, Hive es un ecosistema, donde existen multitud de DApps con las que puedes crear tanto contenido escrito como audiovisual. Mis favoritas son Peakd.com y 3speak.tv. En la primera puedes tener tu blog y crear publicaciones escritas, acompañadas de imágenes o GIF. Por otra parte, en 3speak.tv puedes crear el contenido audiovisual, como yas le mencioné, videos para que se entienda.

This is a great thing, because one can try to create a blog in other options but there is not always the possibility of having an audience and even less sure that you can monetize with it. However, on hive, and its numerous communities, you can create niche-specific content and share it with other authors who are passionate about the same things you like.

For example, on my blog the main niches are art and crafts. This is the type of content I usually create on my blog, focused on art and crafts; however, hive allows you to explore your capabilities and that's one of the things I like the most, because I for example was able to start writing short stories and illustrated audio stories, something I had never done on other centralized platforms.

Esto es algo genial, porque uno puede intentar crear un blog en otras opciones pero no siempre existe la posibilidad de tener una audiencia y mucho menos es seguro que puedas monetizar con este. Sin embargo, en hive, y sus numerosas comunidades, puedes crear contenido de nichos específicos y compartirlos con otros autores apasionados por lo mismo que a ti te gusta.

Por ejemplo, en mi blog los nichos principales son el arte y las manualidades. Este es el tipo de contenido que suelo crear en mi blog, enfocado en el arte y las manualidades; sin embargo, hive te permite explorar tus capacidades y esa es una de las cosas que más me gusta, porque yo por ejemplo pude comenzar a escribir cuentos cortos y audio relatos ilustrados, algo que nunca había hecho en otras plataformas centralizadas.

That's why I say it's one of my favorite things and it's in first place, because if it weren't for hive I would never have been able to share with an audience/audience, the things I'm most passionate about, like the art I make either in drawings, sculptures or my own stories written or narrated in video.

Market and Wallet

This is another aspect that goes hand in hand with the first one I already mentioned. You see, when you create your Hive account, it has a Wallet in which you can store two native currencies such as HIVE and HBD, plus you have the option to store your HIVE in Stake, converting them into HP (Hive Power). The more HP you have, the greater your voting power, with which you can support some authors and add a grain of sand so that their publications can earn some rewards.

Este es otro aspecto que va muy de la mano con el primero que ya mencioné. Verán, cuando creas tu cuenta en Hive, esta tiene una Wallet en la que puedes guardar dos monedas nativas tal como lo son el HIVE y el HBD, además de que tienes la opción de almacenar tus HIVE en Stake, convirtiéndolos en HP (Hive Power). Mientras más HP tienes, mayor será tu poder de voto, con el que podrás apoyar a algunos autores y sumar un granito de arena para que sus publicaciones puedan ganar algo de recompensas.

This is the way in which authors can obtain rewards from their publications, through the votes of other authors and the so-called “Whales”, which, by having a large HP, considerably increase the rewards you can obtain from your publications. However, as it is always said, votes are never guaranteed.

On the other hand, in Hive there is an internal market where you can trade, buying or selling Hive for HBD and vice versa. I like this a lot because unlike other platform/Blockchain, transactions are done almost instantly and at no cost, so you can trade with the native currencies of the platform without any commission.

Esta es la manera en como los autores pueden obtener recompensas de sus publicaciones, a través de los votos de otros autores y las conocidas como "Ballenas", que al tener un gran HP, aumentan considerablemente las recompensas que puedes obtener en tus publicaciones. Sin embargo, como siempre se dice, los votos nunca están garantizados.

Por otra parte, en Hive existe un mercado interno en el que puedes hacer Trading, comprando o vendiendo Hive por HBD y viceversa. Esto me gusta mucho porque a diferencia de otras plataforma/Blockchain, las transacciones se hacen casi al instante y sin costo alguno, así que puedes operar con las monedas nativas de la plataforma sin ningún tipo de comisión.

Similarly, there is Hive-engine, an interface where you can buy and sell a lot of tokens that exist within Hive, like Leo, Zing, POB, Waiv, among others... Here there is a fee for withdrawing SWAP.HIVE from Hive-engine to your wallet, but it is minimal and within the interface you don't pay a fee for your transactions, just like in Hive's internal market, which is great and one of the things I like the most about the Blockchain.

De igual manera, existe Hive-engine, una interface donde puedes comprar y vender un montón de tokens que existen dentro de Hive, como Leo, Zing, POB, Waiv, entre otros... Aquí sí se cobra una comisión por retirar los SWAP.HIVE de Hive-engine hacia tu wallet, pero es mínima y dentro de la interface no pagas comisión por tus transacciones, al igual que en el mercado interno de Hive, algo genial y que es una de las cosas que más me gusta de la Blockchain.

Community

Finally I wanted to talk about the community because it is something I love and I wanted to end with this in the post.

During all the years I have been here I have had contact with many users. Some have remained in time, others have left, but with many I had very good times, because hive allows you that, to interact with those users and, through their blog, to know a little of their life.

I remember for example that I came to Hive at the time of the pandemic. It was a difficult time when I was completely alone, confined to my house and had no contact with anyone else. In fact this loneliness and the need to generate income was what attracted me to Hive at first, but its community and all the attraction I mentioned before was what told me “Gabo Stay”, that's why I'm still here despite so many years and the many who have left.

Comunidad

Finalmente quería hablar de la comunidad porque es algo que me encanta y quería terminar con esto en el post.

Durante todos los años que he estado aquí he tenido contacto con muchos usuarios. Algunos han permanecido en el tiempo, otros se han ido, pero con muchos tuve muy buenos momentos, porque hive te permite eso, interactuar con esos usuarios y, a través de su blog, conocer un poco de su vida.

Recuerdo por ejemplo que llegué a Hive en la época de la pandemia. Fueron momento difíciles en los que estaba completamente solo confinado en mi casa y no tenía contacto con nadie más. De hecho esta soledad y la necesidad de generar ingresos fue lo que me atrajo a Hive en un primer momento, pero su comunidad y todo el atractivo que les mencioné antes fue lo que me dijo "Gabo Quédate", por eso aún sigo aquí a pesar de tantos años y los muchos que se han ido.

I have made many friends on this platform, some I have met in person and with some I have had close dealings, being a few especially with whom I have shared moments and really beautiful experiences.

In fact, as a final thought on Hive. I like to think that blockchain is not only defined by the price of hive, blockchain is defined by its community... and it certainly is a beautiful community....
