How Many Faces Do You See? (#9)

avatar

A few weeks have passed since I started sharing street art discovered so far in my town thanks to Sibiu International Street Art Festival (SISAF), that it slowly makes me nostalgic seeing the large folder with graffiti getting smaller with every post created for this community.

But fear not! There are still plenty enough left and I still have to discover these from 2024's edition which I keep postponing due to the lack of free time.

That being said, it was really fun to pick the theme for today's post which can also turn into a game of counting all the faces you will see in just 5 images! Oh, and let's not forget, my post will also be submitted under the CCC's Street Art Contest #223!

The first graffiti picked for today's post is meant to express through art how complex a human being can be, starting with the inner emotions all the way to the facial features. On a funny note, even if this was not created on purpose, if one would stick the part from the right over the part from the left, it would create a female who's wearing Romania's colours on her face.

Similar to the previous one but obviously not linked to since this graffiti was created 2 years later, the artist tries to show the importance of rediscovering yourself once in a while remembering that the facial features will also be different depending on how we feel on the inside. Sadly, many people are misunderstood due to their facial features without thinking that maybe the emotions from the inside are what are causing these to change over time.

Up next, we have one graffiti that was really challenging to take a picture of without losing details, because it was placed on one of the largest buildings in town. For that reason, I had to borrow an image from the internet that shows it entirely. The story behind it is as simple as possible, reminding us that every single person on this planet is unique from the others. In some cases, it could be the facial features, the emotions, the knowledge, the way of seeing life, and so on. It's basically impossible to find two persons alike, and that comes from me, who has a twin sister!

The next graffiti comes with another subtle message showcasing how easy it is to become ignorant when having your phone in your hand all the time, no matter the surroundings. Starting with this idea, it also led to one of the first murals in town that showcased drama, yet a topic that is more familiar for poetry rather than street art.

Artists: PANDELE
Location: Strada Luptei 27, Sibiu 557260, România

In addition to the previous street art as it was created in the continuation to that one, we have another message that shows communication is the key to evolution because through communication not only you get answers to your questions but also find new things that obviously lead to this beautiful process. Sadly, real-life communication seems like a fight that won't end against technology which makes us pay way too little attention to the things that really matter in life.

Damn the complexity is quite intriguing! I felt like there was 33 faces 😂 The colors and faces seem sooooo emotional and connecting thoughts instantly.

Your number is pretty close! However, that's the beauty of this activity, as the number of faces you see is based on how feel on that moment. Hence why, not everyone will observe all the faces. ❤️

True but the shades of colors are messing with sight distortion or it may be my lack of sleep, haha.
