Reflection Hunters Contest Round 135 - Lake Reflections

Hello everyone. It's Round 135 of the RefCon or the Reflection Hunters Contest hosted by @olgavita. I hope this post isn't too late yet to meet the deadline with less than 19 hours before cutoff. Check out the contest post and the rules here. Do read up and join us in the fun.

When my daughter first arrived in Germany one of the places she visited was a town called Salzgitter. Salzgitter is a large town in the east of Lower Saxony, about 50 km from Hannover, the capital. It was actually founded in 1942 by the Nazi government, to serve as a new industrial center for steel production during the war owing to its rich deposits of iron, and stands out as one of only a few German cities to be founded in the 20th century, along with Wolfsburg and Eisenhüttenstadt.

Salzgitter was where her first cousin, Paolo, who was also in Germany, lived when he arrived there 6 months before my daughter did. Prior to that, Paolo lived with us here in Davao City, Philippines for a good 7 years before he left for Germany. He and my daughter studied the German language together (a requirement to be able to work in Germany) and often talked and dreamed of working in Germany. Now, the dream is a reality.

Could this be what these two are thinking about as they reflect on the serene and cool water of a Salzgitter lake?

My entry to this week's RefCon is the first photo.

That's all folks. Best of luck to all the participants. Stay safe and may you all have a blessed Sunday.
