SMAP 177 - Don't Count Your Chicks . . .

Hello everyone. It's almost closing time for Round 177 of the Show Me A Photo or SMAP Contest hosted by @nelinoeva. And as usual I'm catching up to make it because I sure don't want to miss a single Round of this exciting and challenging contest. Read all about this here and join us if you haven't yet.

The theme for this week is:

BIRD AND WATER

As luck would have it I found myself a parking space in one of the busiest streets in our city, the public market. My wife had to buy some cat and dog food and cat litter and this is where one can find the cheapest with the widest selection of varieties. Normally the parking space is always full and I would double park with my hazard lights on. My wife goes down to buy and I wait in the car in case a traffic enforcer asks me to leave. But this time a slot opened up when a parked vehicle left just in front of me.

So I parked and was able to go down the car and look around the area. To my surprise, one of the stores was selling this.

These are broiler chicks. Broiler is defined as any chicken bred and raised specifically for meat production. They are typically yellowish skin with white feathers.

My first reaction was to take a photo of them in case I might need it in future SMAP Rounds. But then I saw some chicks drinking from their water trough and I remembered this week's theme. Here now was what I have been on the look out for almost a week.

The last photo is my entry to this Round.

Well that's it. Just glad I made it again. I thought I was not going to find a photo for this week's theme. But as long as there's time don't count your chicks, I mean your SMAP, out. Stay safe everyone.
