SMAP 191 - From Haunted To Ruins
It's Round 191 of the Show Me A Photo or SMAP Contest hosted by @nelinoeva. Check out the contest post here. Do read up and join us in the fun.
The theme for this week is:
BIRD HOUSE
The last time I entered the SMAP with this theme was over 2 years ago, I think. At that time I featured a very old bird house placed on top of a neighbor's wall and I titled the entry as a haunted birdhouse. At that time we also had two white birdhouses which we placed along our fence just beside our Yellow Bell plant. See photo below.
But since we have quite a number of cats roaming the garden, I guess the birds were reluctant to use them. So they were never really used at all. That, plus the fact that the Yellow Bell plant grew bigger, resulted in the new branches pushing against the birdhouses led to their slow deterioration. Now only one dilapidated birdhouse is all that is left.
Note how the new branches have squeezed the remaining birdhouse against the fence and literally gored it to destruction. I guess I wasn't too keen on keeping them anymore because they were not being used at all and the cats kept on chasing the birds away. This is so much like my other entry on this same theme. Then it was a haunted birdhouse. Now it is ruins of a birdhouse.
Well, don't be so down with this post as we still have another birdhouse, a steel one. But since we can't have birds in there, my wife decided to place some air plants inside instead. See photo below which is also my entry to this Round.
And that's it for this post. I hope you liked it. Good luck to all the participants and may you all have a blessed Sunday.
(All photos are mine.)
My pleasure as always. 😀
I must say that here we have many bird houses empty and never used by the birds. So, it is not so unusual. It may be the location or the the house itself.
Thank you so much for your lovely entry!
You are welcome and once again, my pleasure always to be able to participate 😊
