In Round 202 of SMAP I featured the Duck Factory, an outfit that made all kinds of ducks. They carved these ducks and hand-painted them in colors that realistically depicted them. They looked so real that a sizeable chunk of their business was sold to hunting decoy stores. What amazed me then, when I first went to the factory, was how colorful the ducks were. I live in the Philippines and I never saw such multicolored ducks that to me they looked unreal. I was used to ducks being white, brown or white with streaks of black. But green? And red? Half red half white? Apparently there are ducks with such colors and there are lots of them where they come from.

Recently, my daughter who works in Germany had the occasion to visit a place near her apartment called the English Garden. It was afternoon when she got there and although there wasn't much snow for a winter day, it was still very cold. But when she came to a section of the garden where the pond was, she saw so many ducks swimming. Ducks of different colors just like what the Duck Factory made. Oh how I wish I was there.

She sent some pictures of these swimming creatures which I share below.

Amazing how nature creates all beings and the multicolored birds are soooo beautiful.
Ducks are not an exception, what a lovely place your daughter has found. 🙂
