LOH #197: My Mum My Greatest Inspiration.

I am always excited to participate in the ladies of contest weekly prompt in the ladies of hive community. I will be writing on the topic:

Who in your life inspires you to become the best version of yourself, and how do they do so?

This is one topic I am so excited to write about. We all have a lot of people that inspire us to become a better version of ourselves. Most of us have friends that inspire us, pastors, mentors and parents. Here I will say I am so blessed to have my mum in my life as a huge inspiration to me. After my Dad died my Mum took over the responsibility of struggling to see us grow up and become responsible people. Her strengths, her determination and her zeal are my inspirations.

I happened to learn about a woman in my village who abandoned his children to marry another man and the children had to struggle on their own without help from anywhere. That was when I started valuing my mum's presence in our lives, staying around and fighting hard to make sure we all succeed. This alone has inspired me to grow up and become a better version of myself.

Having to struggle under rain or sun frying and selling Akara where our school fees have all come from our feeding money have all come from everything we've ever needed has come from my mom's struggles. So I keep telling myself if my mum could do this, meaning I can do better than her. She has been my greatest inspiration. She has been the reason why I keep striving to make it in life. She has been the reason why i refuse to give up even when there are a lot of reasons to give up but when i remember that she stands a better chance to give up and she didnt i kept pushing and striving to become a better version of me. I told myself that whatever it takes I must strive to make it so that my mother will be fulfilled. That she is suffering and the pains she is going through regarding striving hard to see us succeed was never in vain. My Mother is my greatest inspiration to becoming the best version of myself.
