I finally get to post this week on Beer Saturday, which I have not been able to participate in for a long time! Yay! Thanks @detlev for hosting!

Pneumonia came to our family this month, and although I myself was fine, I could not drink next to my family coughing...so the beer I bought the other day had been sitting in the back of the fridge for a long time.

My second son, who is 6 years old, in particular had a prolonged cough, but he finally got back to feeling better last weekend. On Saturday, my elder son was supposed to qualify for a speech contest, so we all went to cheer him up.

To be honest, I had no expectations at all...because although I had read his speech beforehand, I did not think it was good enough to win, and my son is the type of person who gets nervous easily, so I could not imagine him speaking well in front of a large audience at all. So even before the qualifying round started, I was thinking about how I could comfort him after the event....

However, when my son went on stage, he was surprisingly calm and composed. Apart from a slightly stiff facial expression, his voice was clear and he spoke neither too fast nor too slow, and he managed to deliver a five-minute speech without looking at the script. I was really surprised by this.

As a result, he did not make the cut, and did not qualify, but my husband and I were very pleased with his magnificent performance. (Only my second son was upset that his brother did not make it to the finals.) I felt so good that I decided, “Yes, let's have a beer to celebrate when we get home!

This time I opened an Asahi “Shokusai” can. Again, I was attracted by the luxurious golden design. It features a full-open can, which allows you to watch the beautiful foam gush up without having to pour it into a glass. I had never seen this type of can before, but I was told that there are small bumps on the inside of the can where the carbonated water touches the bumps to create foam. You can enjoy the fine foam as if you were pouring it from a real beer server. I wanted to see the color of the beer, so I poured it into a glass, but it is interesting that you can enjoy it visually in the can.

I was hungry, so I heated up the frozen genovese. Frozen pasta these days is really tasty, with chewy noodles.... If it were served in a nice bowl, you probably wouldn't be able to tell that it was frozen food😋

Shokusai was first launched last July and was originally limited to convenience stores nationwide. It has been sold in all business categories since March of this year. I bought it the other day at a large supermarket. The alcohol content is 5.5 percent. The gorgeous aroma of rare French hops matched the package design, and I enjoyed it with genovese.

Perhaps it is because my elder son is 11 years old, but he has been irritating me a lot lately. But it was Saturday that I realized that he is growing up properly without my awareness. I hope to be able to enjoy a good beer every Saturday as a little reward! In order to do so, the whole family must stay healthy and not catch a cold!

今月は我が家に肺炎がやってきて、私自身は元気ではあったものの、家族がゲホゴホしている横で飲むわけにもいかなくて・・・先日買ったビールはずっと冷蔵庫の奥で眠っていました。

特に次男の咳は長引いてしまったのですが、先週末にようやく体調が戻りました。土曜日は長男がスピーチコンテストの予選に出ることになっていたため、皆で応援に行きました。

正直、全然期待はしていなかったんです・・・というのも、事前に原稿は読んでいたものの優勝を狙えるほどではないと思っていましたし（ゴメン）、長男は緊張しやすいタイプなので、大勢を前にうまく話している姿が全く想像できなかったからです。なので予選が始まる前から、どうやって慰めの言葉をかけてやろうか… と、そんなことばかり考えていました。

ところが、ステージに上がった長男は思いの外堂々と落ち着いていました。少々表情が固いことを除けば、声も出ているし、話すスピードも早過ぎず遅過ぎず、原稿を見ずに5分程度のスピーチをやり切ったのです。これには本当にびっくりしました。

結果、入選はできず予選敗退となりましたが、私と夫は大満足でした。（次男だけは、「にいに」が入選しなかったことに腹を立てていましたが😅）。あまりに良い気分だったので、そうだ、帰ったらお祝いにビールを飲もう！と決めました。

今回開けたのは、アサヒの「食彩」。今回も、高級感のある金色のデザインに惹かれての購入です。フルオープンの缶が特徴で、グラスに注がなくても湧き上がる綺麗な泡を眺めることができます。このタイプの缶は初めてですが、缶の内側に小さな凹凸があり、そこに炭酸が触れて泡立つしくみなのだそう。まるで本格的なビアサーバーで注いだかのような、きめ細やかな泡が楽しめます。私はビールの色も見たかったのでグラスに注ぎましたが、この缶なら、缶のままでも視覚的にも楽しめるのが面白いですね。

お腹も空いていたので、冷凍のジェノベーゼを温めました。最近の冷凍パスタって、麺がモチモチしていてほんと美味しいんですよね…。良い器に盛って出されたら、たぶん冷凍食品だとは分からないと思います。

「食彩」が発売されたのは去年の7月で、元々は全国のコンビニ限定品だったそうです。それが、今年の3月から全業態で販売されるようになったとのこと。先日私が買ったのも大きめのスーパーマーケットでした。アルコールは5.5パーセント。フランス産希少ホップの華やかな香りがパッケージデザインと合っていて、ジェノベーゼと一緒に美味しくいただきました。

長男は11歳という年齢もあって最近はイラっとさせられることも多いのですが、私の知らないところでちゃんと成長しているんだなと実感した土曜日でした。毎週土曜日には、ちょっとしたご褒美として美味しいビールを楽しめるといいな！そのためには家族全員、風邪をひかず、元気に過ごさなければならないですね😅
