S&S Invitational: Thriller Edition
πΊ Welcome to the Scholar and Scribe Invitational πΊ
The Invitational is our bi-weekly, super-duper, writing contest. It is where we match quills and draw blood all for the sake of the craft. We all know a 'friendly' competition never hurts anyone, much, especially when it can be used as a platform to improve your writing. π
π₯³ Last Invitational Winners π₯³
π₯ Gold: 2 HSBI, 300 Ecency points, 50 SCHOLAR, 3 SCRIBE
@zakludick - Heroic Deeds and Heroic Figures
This week's prompt, theme and genre was just too much on the nose for me. The hosts might as well have been pointing at me and said "Hey! Write something already! This is what you write! There is no excuse!"
π₯ ** Silver: 1 HSBI, 200 Ecency points4, 40 SCHOLAR, 2 SCRIBE**
@alonicus - The Coppersmith's Kingdom
Hopefully this tale ticks both those boxes ! But I also wanted to show that not all heroic fantasy is medieval-themed, and it's not just knights in shining armour who rescue princesses.

π€Ί Prompt π€Ί
π₯ Genre: Thriller
π¨ Theme: Action
We're going with a different approach with this one. Mixing and matching the genre and theme to try and come up with fun new combos. This time around the prompt is very straight forward and honest. But also fun. Which is the crux of writing anyway. I still think the nuance of freedom can be harder to write for than the shackles of constraint. But to each their own.
May the odds - and your creative energy - be ever in your favor!
We'd like to give out a big shout-out and thank you to Ecency for sponsoring this contest! π€
A big thank you to @melinda010100 as well for the seamless communication.
Check out the Ecency front-end and/or mobile app for more information on how to use your points.
Congratulations
To winners of the Fantasy/Heroic Edition of our Invitational β @zakludick and @alonicus. We're in awe of the heroes in your stories and the incredible feats they accomplished. Well done!

Great story my guy. We really hit your niche last time.
Indeed it was!
And now you have Action Thriller.... hmmm... π€π€π€
Even if I do not win... might be good to practice. Also... did not see many entries. So it would actually be good to throw my hat in more regularly.
Sending you Ecency curation votes!
Thank you ! This was one of my favourite ones so far π
Now to try to think of something for the new prompt.....
@lailawrites - here you are, the latest invitational. I'd love to see you create something for it ! I don't know how close it is to your comfort zone (it's quite a way from mine !), but I love pushing myself to write in unfamiliar genres, it really makes me have to think about what I'm doing π
I always love a good creative push, even if it's outside my usual comfort zone. Letβs see what I can come up with ππ€
