Corn and radicchio beers - plus Sun's Spectrum live

Hello Beer community 🍻
Another week has passed and another #beersaturday is on my table today. This time I'm at my brother's house because I had to take care of something with him and then we'll go to a concert together, but I'll tell you about it later.

The beer he had at home is a craft beer produced by "Nonno Andrea" (Granpa Andrea). It is a place near Treviso, north-east Italy, famous especially during the Halloween period because it grows an infinite number of pumpkins. Nonno Andrea's farm becomes a real agricultural fair with many seasonal products and often typical of this area, including for example the radicchio di Treviso, a very famous variety.

Nonno Andrea has become very popular over the years, so much so that when he organizes his fairs you have to pay a ticket to get in! I have never been there but my brother has and he took the chance to bring home these two beers. Today we only tasted the corn one.

There is no useful information about this beer, not even on the website. I only know from the list of ingredients that corn represents 25% - I imagine the fermentation mass together with the barley.

As you can see the color is dark yellow and clearly the beer is not filtered, since it appears cloudy. It does not produce much foam when poured, an indication that it doesn't have much co2, in fact you can easily drink one without feeling too full in the stomach. The taste is very delicate but pleasant. Not that the corn provides a particular aroma, on the contrary, it seems to counterbalance the barley and hops towards something more neutral but at the same time more rounded. In short, despite being a light ale we are very far from the "industrial" taste of typical commercial beers, like Heineken and company.

So we went to this concert, an event called Dark Fest near Udine. 3 bands plus dj set. The headliners are my friends Sun's Spectrum, who I love because it's thanks to them that I found the strength and inspiration to start my musical project as Harbiter. While I sip another craft beer proposed by the pub, I share with you a video of my favorite song of them:

And to get charged up before the DJ set, a good absinthe liqueur πŸ˜‹
(I'm not an alcoholic lol I swear)

I like the simple labels and it sounds like a beer I might like. I'm not keen on the 'industrial' beers.

Hope you enjoyed the gig.

Yes, Sun's Spectrum have a huge sound and they always manage to get people dancing. This guy called The Neon Syndicate was playing before them. It's the first time I see someone playing 80s synthwave live, it's been really really good and tripping

I love red radicchio! I really like red radicchio rice. I admit that I was completely unaware that red radicchio beer also existed. Thanks for showing us its existence !PIZZA
