Phone Photography Contest #19: Cattleya Orchids
It's rainy season in my country right now, so most of our plants are feeling happy and are thriving. We had a really long drought last time due to El Niño, so our garden was also having a hard time.
We don't have a huge space for our garden, so we mostly keep potted plants or some hanging plants like orchids. My mom has always been into flowering plants, particularly orchids. We've had them anywhere we live regardless of the area.
For the Phone Photography Contest 19, I'll be sharing some shots I took of our Cattleya orchids.
This one here is a budding version which I took last July 15. This plant was given to us a few months back by one of my close friends. He and his girlfriend visited his home in the countryside and before going back to their place, they dropped by to give this to my mom.
This one here is a photo of the same plant which I took ten days after the previous photo. They have blossomed into a beautiful bunch of Cattleya orchids.
We also have this Cattleya orchid. This one is quite old. Perhaps you can notice its roots. We brought this one from our previous place where we lived more than 10 years ago. It's still thriving. We have another one in the frontyard, but it doesn't have any flowers at the moment... so maybe, next time?
Thanks for checking my post. See you around! (^^,)/

There are other colors, too... They're really pretty 😍 Thank you! 😊
hi, your first pic hasn't linked
the second one is lovely, and that third pic is amazing! I always thought orchids were meant to be delicate, but that looks like it could outlive the heat death of the universe
Orchids are survivors... some of them grow in the wild. :)
I personally love orchids. Had some in our garden but we left the place eventually (out of the country) quite sad.
Looks like your mom's looking after this really well. Looking very happy orchids indeed. Nice captures! 😍
Aww... That's sad. Did you give them to someone else? Some of our orchids were given by our previous landlady before her family migrated. And when they visit the Philippines, they sometimes come over. She's happy to see the orchids every time.
Thank you... 🥰🥰🥰
