I CHOOSE RICE AND ITS VARIETIES FOR A LIFE LONG MEAL PLAN

Food is a necessity for life no doubt, and in my country we have a great variety of foods, Nigeria is blessed with healthy indigenous foods that it will be hard to choose just one but I think that simple. There are over 500 cultural dishes available to the country 3ach specific to a particular culture, tribe and community. When the lady Hilda Baci, who won the Guinness world record for the longest cooking of different dishes, she stated that she made over a 100 dishes.

Foreign white rice

It's really not an easy feat, eating only one particular type of food as it can be boring, but diversity brings out the best in it. If possibly I get to find myself living in a world where I have to pick just one specie of food and have to live by that for the rest of the year, it definitely has to be RICE. Rice is a type of grain considered to be in the starchy family of foods. Amongst the variety of foods I decided to go with rice as it can be consumed in different ways that can be healthy to the human body. Too much is rice is not good but in this case, thats the best choice.

Due to the varieties of rice that we have, it cannot be eaten in isolation. There is no way you get to boil rice and eat it like that, you would not enjoy it. Rather you have to accompany it with sauce or soup. The different ways to enjoy rice though.

WHY CHOOSE RICE

  • it can simply be eaten as just boiled rice and stew. This is one of the most common ways of eating rice in this country. Even the Sundays in the past, rice is a kind of celebratory and special meal served with stew or sauce made in a special way.
  • Jollof rice: this is another way of enjoying by adding different ingredients with tomato sauce and vegetables to give it a reddish delicious look. I consider jollof rice a national food
  • coconut rice: you can never go boring with rice, as there are ways to add spices that will make your food healthier and delicious. Coconut is made using coconut milk to prepare white rice. We all know that coconut is a healthy fruit, now combined with rice is epic.
  • fried rice: this is the addition of stir fried vegetables such as green peas, carrots, green pepper, onions, green beans and so on to your white rice. It appears greenish in Colour and can be eaten with salad.
  • palm oil rice:are you trying to make a low budget type of rice that will be satisfying, try the palmoil rice. All that is needed is just palmoil and some spices and we are good to go.
  • Banga rice: I went for a wedding in Warri and they served this particular dish, it was yummy and I fell in love with it. It involves the use of palm fruit and spices to prepare.
  • ofada rice with Ayamase sauce: the ofada rice rice is a type of rice locally made in Nigeria and eaten with a special sauce that uses so much pepper as it can be very spicy.

As we can see, rice is not a boring food especially when we explore our options. I prefer to have this for the rest of my life if that's the case because there are different kinds of rice, like foreign, basmati, ofada, local rice, brown rice and so on. It can only be harmful when eaten in isolation with the the right veggies in place we are good to go.

We definitely on the same side. I will choose rice anytime anyday, the only thing is that I would prefer a good jollof rice.
