Reminiscing how we use paper to make boats at a younger age

Hello guys

I remember when we were young and we would always make shapes and designs with papers, today for my origami context I would like to reminisce back on when we reduce paper to make boats. Then we would use colored papers, plain white papers, cardboard and so on just to make it beautiful and outstanding amongst our peers but today I had to make use of what I had nearby just to showcase my talent. This is one of the many creative works with explored as children I remember we reduce papers to make both like this birds kite wrist watches, build homes and so on. The funny part of this is that as kids we enjoyed every moment of this creation and it takes nothing less than a minute to create these beautiful piece.

I'm going to be taking us through the process of making an origami boat as I remember it. The first and important step is simple just get a piece of paper in the rectangular shape big or small would definitely create a sizable boat. So below is my paper and afterwards I fold it into two so has to be able to start the process of its creation.

First step

Second step

Folding the paper into two equal rectangular shape the next step is to fold over or half of the paper creating two triangles on its side just as it is shown in the image below

Third step

This is done so at to achieve the next step where the remaining extra of the paper is folded upwards against each other

After achieving this step you go on to pick up the paper and open it up in the middle so as to achieve the next step

After folding it up like this we will then proceed to take half of the opened part and fold it upwards again in this way we are about to achieve destruction of how a boat looks like

After achieving that there is a specific way you open the triangle leaving the center alone, would give you the perfect shape of a boat

In conclusion this is what I was able to come out with although it looks rough but I still achieved a boat. This is one of the reasons why I would encourage creativity especially amongst kids because it helps to build knowledge and enhance their mental skills.

This is a part of my entry for the #juneinleo prompt as organized by the @leogrowth team with great initiative that members of Hive you can participate in this prompt and tackle them as you deem fit. In collaboration with the @hivediy community.

Thanks for stopping by my blog

Hi @henrietta27, reading your post reminded me of my years in school we used to make paper boats and airplanes, it was fun to play with it.

Greetings!

Childhood was really so much fun. Thinking about it, kids can be very creative cause, for all I remember, we had kites, planes, watches, phones, etc, all of which were made from paper.

Beautiful work you did with this.
Well done!
