A Duality Life: As an Organizer and Dancer
Note: This is photo is edited using Canva.
After a few months of rest after my graduation, I decided to cooperate with my other dance group first. The reason I want to participate so that I can be with them again is because I have been taking a break from dancing for a while because I focus on studying first. And when I went there, I was assigned as an event organizer for a big event in the entire province.
The event I'm bringing is Zayaw Sa Sur, I'm also thankful because I was given this opportunity to experience what the role of an event organizer really is and of course it's still a big event. Ever since I took responsibility as an organizer, I felt the nervousness and excitement in handling the day of the event.
The funniest part is that not only was I brought in as an organizer, I also participated as back up dancers for the singers who will be participating in the competition, the time management was really bad, but in the end I was able to do it even though I kept up with what I was doing. During the meeting of the committee on staff for the event, I was also assigned to assist the guest judges in the dance competition.
It's a good feeling to engage in things that you haven't really experienced before. You can learn a lot from this thing like time management, patience, discipline, and organizing difficult things.
And there was also a time when the guest judges requested to go to tourist spots, I was with them because I needed to accompany them. Because of that I became close to the guest judges and became mutual on the social media platform.
These are the photos that were taken during the event backstage with me and other staff there and of course I also have a photo with the guest judges especially Jay Joseph Roncesvalles, a famous and head choreographer of SB19.
I also had lapses during organizing an event. But I didn't give up, I strengthened myself even more to fight the responsibility that was given to me. Because this is my forte, these are the things that give me excitement, at the same time when I learn on my own.
Even though it's early in the morning when we finish our practice, I'm still on my goal of being able to handle these challenges because I know it's for the best and to build myself up.
Finally the event was a success, I can really say to myself that there is nothing you can't do if you don't try. The bottom line is that no matter what the things are that you already know you can't do but you will want to, I know you can do it, you will overcome it. Never stop learning, because learning is eternal.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
