Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 342 with the New England IPA brewed by Le Castor (The Beaver in French), a microbrewery based in Rigaud, Quebec. Every time I go to a beer store, I discover a new brewery. But with more than 300 breweries in Quebec alone, I still have plenty of discoveries to share with you 😀.

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 342 avec une New England IPA brassée par Le Castor, microbrasserie se trouvant à Rigaud au Québec. A chaque fois que je vais magasin de bières, je découvre une nouvelle brasserie. Mais avec plus de 300 brasseries rien qu'au Québec, j'ai encore pas mal de découvertes à vous faire partager 😀.

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. Le Castor is located in the town of Rigaud in the Montérégie region, not far west of Montreal. The exact address is 67, chemin des Vinaigriers.

Le Castor is an organic microbrewery founded in 2012. The owners, Daniel Addey-Jibb and Murray Elliott discovered beer during an internship in Scotland in traditional carpentry. On their return, they went into construction, but business didn't do so well after 2008 with the financial crisis. So they decided to take up their passion, brewing beers, especially those they had tasted during their internship in Scotland, English ales. Success has been theirs from the start.

Le Castor est une microbrasserie biologique fondée en 2012. Les propriétaires, Daniel Addey-Jibb et Murray Elliott ont découvert la bière lors d'un stage en Écosse en charpenterie traditionnelle. A leur retour, ils se lancent dans la construction mais les affaires ne font pas si bien après 2008 avec la crise financière. Alors ils décident de se lancer dans leur passion, brasser des bières, surtout celles qu'ils avaient gouté pendant leur stage en Écosse, des ales anglaises. Le succès est au rdv depuis le début.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The New England IPA is an IPA brewed with El Dorado, Mosaic and Citra organic hops at 6.3% alcohol. In the glass, we find a very cloudy orange color with a nice, thick head. If you read my BeerSaturdays, you know I'm not a fan of IPAs, but last night I was in the mood for a bit of bitterness. With its tropical fruit flavor, the beer is well balanced with a slight bitterness. Perfect... I think it's going often to be in my fridge 😀.

La New England IPA est une IPA brassée avec les houblons El Dorado, Mosaic et Citra biologique avec 6.3% d'alcool. Dans le verre, nous retrouvons une très robe de couleur orange assez troublée avec une belle mousse bien épaisse. Si vous lisez mes BeerSaturday, vous savez que je ne suis pas fan d'IPA mais hier soir j'avais envie d'un peu amertume. Avec son gout de fruits tropicaux, la bière est bien balancée avec une légère amertume. Parfait... je pense qu'elle va se trouver souvent dans mon frigo 😀.

Design

I don't know who did the design, but this black-and-white winter landscape caught my eye in the local beer fridge. I'm glad I stumbled across it.

Je ne sais pas qui a fait le design, mais ce paysage d'hiver en noir et blanc a attiré mon œil dans le frigo des bières locales. Je suis bien content d'être tomber dessus.
