Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 344 hosted by @detlev with a New England IPA brewed in Quebec City by the craft brewery Nano Cinco. And then, it was the design of the can that immediately drew me in, I can't resist to Godzilla 😀.

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. Nano Cinco is located in the popular Limoilou district of Quebec City. The exact address is 236 de la 3ème rue. It's written down for my next visit to the city.

Nano Cinco is, as is often the case, the project of 4 great beer lovers Paul Simon, Mathieu Pelletier, Éloi Paradis-Deschênes and William Berton. They brewed for over 5 years directly at home. In 2022, they finally had their own premises where they installed two brewing systems to produce two types of beer at the same time, including one of only 300 liters to continue experimenting. Cool concept, almost weekly, they offer new products in their brewery.

Nano Cinco est comme souvent le projet de 4 grands amateurs de bière Paul Simon, Mathieu Pelletier, Éloi Paradis-Deschênes et William Berton. Ils ont brassé pendant plus de 5 ans directement chez eux. En 2022, ils ont enfin leurs propres locaux ou ils installent deux systèmes de brassage pour réaliser deux types de bières en même temps dont une de seulement de 300 litres pour continuer à expérimenter. Cool concept, presque semaine, ils proposent des nouveautés dans leur brasserie.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

Kaiju is a New England IPA with 6.8% alcohol. It's made with Newzilla (which gave it its name), Pink and Citra Cryo hops. I like the fact that the hops and their provenance are indicated on the can. For the record, Kaiju in Japanese means strange creatures like Godzilla... but it's not only. Japanese love these kinds of monsters in the movies. Coming back to the beer, in the glass, we have a beautiful straw yellow color, completely opaque. Very little foam, perhaps I poured it wrongly 🤔. The taste is fruity and even tropical, but I didn't particularly taste the peach, lime and apricot. But my palate isn't very educated yet 😀. All in all, this is a good beer with a good balance between bitterness and fruitiness.

La Kaiju est une New England IPA avec 6.8% d'alcool. Elle a été faite avec les houblons Newzilla (ce qui a donné son nom), Pink, Citra Cryo. J'aime bien que sur la canette les houblons et leur provenance sont indiqués. Pour info, Kaiju en japonais signifie créatures étranges comme Godzilla... mais pas seulement. ;es japonais adorent ce genre de monstres dans les films. Je reviens à la bière, dans le verre, on a une belle robe jaune paille complétement opaque. Très peu de mousse, peut-être que je l'ai mal versé dans mon verre. Au gout, on a bien le côté fruité et même tropical mais je n'ai pas senti particulièrement la pêche, la lime et l'abricot. Mais mon palais n'est pas encore très éduqué 😀. Au final, il s'agit d'une bonne bière bien équilibré entre l'amertume et le fruité.
