BeerSaturday 368 - Soleil de Sinaloa (Le Castor)

avatar

Here's my entry for BeerSaturday 368 with my latest beer bought to meet friends on a hot summer's day, a lager, Soleil de Sinaloa brewed by Le Castor. I'd already tasted a "not-bad" IPA from this brewery, see BeerSaturday 342 - New England IPA.

Here is the map of Quebec where I can show you precisely the location of the brewery. Le Castor is located in the town of Rigaud in the Montérégie region, not far west of Montreal. The exact address is 67, chemin des Vinaigriers. Following @detlev's idea, I'm adding @worldmappin brewery. Cool feature.

Cool option.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :

Le Castor is an organic microbrewery founded in 2012. Owners Daniel Addey-Jibb and Murray Elliott discovered beer while on a carpentry course in Scotland. On their return, they went into construction, but business was not so good with the financial crisis of 2008. So they decided to follow their passion, brewing beers, especially those they had tasted during their internship in Scotland, English ales. Success has been theirs from the start.

Soleil de Sinaloa (Sinaloa Sun) is a lager with only 4% alcohol. It is brewed with malted corn and pilsner from Malterie Caux-Laflamme. All ingredients are organic. In the glass, there's a lovely yellow-orange color, but no foam. Strange... To the taste, this beer is very light. I'm a bit surprised by the lack of taste and, above all, the absence of foam. Perhaps my can was “flat”, a bit stale. I was a little disappointed, although it did refresh me on a hot day, with the felling temperature approaching 37°.

It was the design of the can that caught my eye when I made my purchase. This colorful Chihuahua hypnotized me 😀. I hesitate to buy another one to see if it was a can problem or this lager is really like that 🤔.

Yep very cool design, it caught my eye in the store. But the beer, I think, was evented, little taste and no foam 😢
