Thanksgiving Pie made with pears.
Hello, great food community greetings. After a long time, I am posting my recipe here. pear pie made for Thanksgiving. This way I made the first time and it was done very nicely. But I am not a professional baker, to make nice artistic decorations with whipping cream. But I tried it and like to enter my post for @qurator hive top chef theme- whipping cream.
Preparing pears
Ingredients:
7 small-sized pears peeled
1/4 cup sugar
2 pinches of salt
3 tsp cinnamon.
wash and peel pears. ( I peeled them a few hours before and sprinkled some cinnamon and sugar on them before slicing them)
Make appropriate slices. and keep them aside
For crust:
2 cups of white flour
100 grams butter
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp very cold water.
Mix all dry ingredients flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Grate the cold butter directly in the flour mixture.
Mix the butter very lightly using fingertips and make some crumbles.
The mixture should be moist to make a clump.
Using very little cold water, make the crumble crust.
Using the folding method just gather the crust and make a ball to roll it.
Using a rolling pin roll crust.
Roll it around 1/2 cm thick or less.
Using a pie-pan make the circle according to the pie-pan size.
Cut it and keep it ready aside. and use the leftover ring to put in the pie pan
Before starting the next step we should prepare caramel.
Making caramel
In the sauce-pan add sugar saving 1 tbsp.
Melt sugar until turns brown
A little harder is better because pears will release some juice in the baking process.
The leftover crust ring I fixed in the pan But it is not necessary
I just used it to avoid mess on the pie pan
Pour the caramel into the pie bottom.
Start arranging pear slices on the caramel use the best-looking slices on the bottom because they are the visible after pie is finished and flipped over.
Sprinkle some cinnamon powder and sugar.
Then place the rest of the slices and broken pieces on top.
Now sprinkle 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Cover with a round pie crust.
Fix it from the sides and make some holes poking a fork or knife.
Bake it preheated oven at 190 C for 20 minutes and reduce the heat to 160 C for around 10 minutes and the pie is ready. Remove from the oven and keep it for cooling around 10 minutes.
After cooling flip it over while on the plate and it is upside down with nice pear slices. if the side ring is loose you can remove it completely. You can eat it like this or decorate it with whipped cream.
For decoration
150 ml whipping cream
1/2 tbsp powdered sugar.
1 tbsp grated or slivered dark chocolate
2 tbsp caramel sauce.
start whipping the cream then add the powdered sugar and finish whipping taking care not to overdo it
First, drizzle some caramel sauce on the pie.
then decorate with the whipped cream
finish off with the chocolate.
It was nice with a cup of coffee.
Thank you
nice pie

Oh my, I want a slice! Pears delicious in sweet preparations. I've never tried pear pie, but I can tell it's delicious.
Shredding the cold butter is a nice trick to make the shortcrust. It looks great.
What a good recipe, dear @hindavi ❤️
