Let's make a beautiful design using old CDs.

Good evening to all my hive friends! Today, I felt inspired to create something useful out of discarded materials. I had a few old, expired software CDs lying around, which I didn’t want to simply throw away or burn, as that’s not the best option. So, I thought of making a beautiful flower using these discs. Even though I’m not an expert at crafting, I believe that with a little creativity, we can make something out of almost anything we usually discard. While this is a simple creation, it’s a fun and eco-friendly way to reuse materials. I made it together with my child, which allowed them to tap into their own creativity too. Let’s take a look at how I crafted this!

Step-by-Step Process...…..

First, take a CD and cut two circles the size of a small coin. Use strong scissors when cutting the CD.

Next, take two more CDs and cut each one into 12equal sections. After that, take each section and cut them into the shape of a flower petal. If needed, you can use a pencil or marker to draw the petal shapes before cutting for more accuracy.

Additionally, cut several pieces in a square shape for the flower’s base, and a few pieces for the leaves as well. You can cut them in the following way to give them the desired shapes for the flower stem and leaves.

Next, take a black drawing sheet, apply glue around the edges, and stick it onto the cardboard. Cut the cardboard in an A4 size shape to match the drawing sheet perfectly.

Next, arrange the CD pieces on the black drawing sheet in the shape of a flower. Apply glue to the back of each piece and carefully stick them down to form the petals of the flower.

After that, attach the remaining pieces in a way that completes the flower petals. Arrange them carefully to create the full shape of the flower, making sure all the pieces fit together neatly to resemble a beautiful flower.

Now, this beautiful creation is complete! You too can make lovely designs using discarded materials just like this. I’ll meet you again with another new creation.
