Community Concert
A special greeting to all Hive Open Mic musicians and friends of our community. We gather again in this Community Concert where we highlight our Radiant Gems, welcome new members and choose a new Spotlight Artist in charge of defining one of our future themes. We invite you to enjoy this summary of the great moments of the last edition.
To celebrate our 200 Weeks, for the first time a music contest has been held with a very basic and fundamental rule, which was to dedicate a song to a user who has never been part of the Hive Open Mic Family, in addition to the points that we usually consider in the community, previously established in our Community Guidelines.
200 HIVE will be given out in prizes sponsored by @recording-box who kindly supports our community since a couple of months ago, you can find more information about this project on their official website. The Hive Open Mic team is in charge of choosing the winners of this edition, led by the administrators @cabelindsay and @jesuslnrs, in company of the moderators @alex-rourke, @fernanblog, @mipiano, @musicandreview and @stickupboys.
The dynamic Virtual Serenade was chosen by the user @jesuslnrs, one of the leaders of the community in order to integrate more people to our musical space of Global Harmony. Jesús stands out for being a very versatile musician and for collaborating with the administration of the Hive Open Mic. He has shown a great example by sharing his Virtual Serenade with a very meaningful song, say a dedication, so let's start this Community Concert with his entry:

Honorable Mentions
We want to encourage these two artists who did a special job at Hive Open Mic Week 200. The first of them is our 200 Weeks Pillar, an example in the creation of musical content that is the ideal that we want to project through our community. The second one is the Creativity Award, an artist that despite being new in our family reinvents himself weekly to share extraordinary and fun content for the viewer, he is an example for all Hive Open Mic members to not fall into monotony and keep the weekly dynamics active.

What great choices and equally great renditions of two very different and difficult anthems. You are so right that I have memories of those songs - and those times. Joy brings back memories of school and Bright Blue were a big part of the soundtrack to my young adult life - some of which I wrote about here. That post links to another - more tongue in cheek - and which does feature Weeping. I also have fond memories of seeing Bright Blue, live - relatively often - some of that and some other iconic South African tunes... in those posts and this one.
Poignant that you chose those anthems as we celebrate 30 years of democracy and when there is so much good - and awful - about our beloved country.

Nice walk down memory lane on the first with photographs used within the video, people mingled together more then than they do today.
We shared within communities where most feared to tread, got into trouble a couple of times on stern warnings by police. Never changed our spirited souls, in fact we made good friends and still made arrangements when teenagers, to meet in safe black/white areas not looked at.
Once again a Nation standing together with a vote, hopefully this time will count to making life amicable to all, we are all South African under the same sun and moon.

Hola amigos, un gran abrazo, soy seguidor de openmic desde hace mucho, no participo como musico, pero lo soy, primero quiero preguntar, en esta semana 200 que era sobre serenata virtual, cuales eran los argumentos a evaluar para dar los premios? porque el primero lugar esta muy bien claro que si, porque rossana canta muy bien, toca muy bien la guitarra, pero los demas puesto creo yo que no van con la tematica, hay muchos otros artistas que realizaron mejores trabajos a nivel, vocal, de sonido y audio, calidad de video, escenografia, vestimenta etc, entonces para un concurso o para cada semana de tematicas que es lo que evaluan, para darle buenas recompensas a los artistas que se lo merecen, que si hacen un buen trabajo. He visto usuario que ni cantan, desafinan fuertemente, no caen en tiempo, los videos de baja calidad en audio y sonido y aun asi obtinen muy buenas recompensas. Creo que tienen que meter el ojo en ese campo y recompensar a los artistas que si estan haciendo un buen trabajo aqui en la plataforma a nivel musical, que se esmeran por hacer un buena presentaciòn. Y los usuarios nuevos que van entrando que vean y sigan el ejemplo para que no solo prendan una camara y se pongan a cantar, sino que hagan un buen trabajo musical y visual. Mi opiniòn y mi critica constructiva para todos ustedes en la comunidad, que sigo desde hace tiempo. Mil benciones.
