Let's start with the image here, since you are a plant man I will focus on the name of my favorite animal that best fits my personality, the Grass raccoon. For it, I choose the name
hardclean,
a term composed of two words. The first is strong or tough, as I have seen this innocent and noble creature break the strongest metal trap with its nails and teeth very easily, as well as chew any crustacean shell that will be its source of food without much effort. Now, the word clean goes with its similarity to cleanliness, as this is one of the cleanest animals on the planet even though it feeds on waste. One of its characteristics is its ability to wash its food and hands before eating, which is why we usually find it near rivers. That's why I chose this name. Good luck in the contest.

#1 - Sparky: the name comes from the first impression I had when I saw Fire Wolf. It has a splendid light, flame effect and flaming eyebrows and at the same time it is a name that goes well with a fire puppy 🔥

#2 - Bazoo: it is actually a name that I created for a fictional character in one of my stories, which was never finished, and had similar features to the character Grass Raccoon. The name is also phonetic ☺️

#3 - Speedish: it is the union of two words Speed and Fish, a name invented at the moment to try to combine two words that represent Water Whale at its best 😁

#4 - Voltbit: here too I tried to combine the Volt, an instrument for measuring electricity, and the ending Bit from Rabbit!

Reasoning:
Ofcourse there doesn't really have to be a link between the type they are and their name but I think it's always nice to have a (hidden, not obvious) link. As not many people understand Latin, it's not that obvious at all, except maybe the water one, so I think I chose names in line with my reasoning.

As they are all starters, I think it would be great to have a link between them all in their names instead of 4 random names. Ofcourse here again, there doesn't have to be a link, but for me personally it connects them in a certain way besides all 4 being starters. What better way to connect them using the last part of the name of the project?

I noticed most of the suggestions are about word plays and substituting similar words, e.g. aqua for water, etc. Not saying that this is bad, but I just wanted to offer something different to the table in this brainstorming session. :)

So I thought of suggesting names where HoloZing is featured. One, because HoloZing is the name of the game and these are the first starters of this game. Two, this would give some unique-ness to the names or it might just sound like any other Pokemon naming nomenclature, if you get what I mean.

1 - Flarelynx ---- The design prominently features the fiery characteristics around the character, most notably the burning mane, tail, and fiery accents on its fur. "Flare" conveys the essence of fire and brightness. Although the concept is a wolf, the character's appearance also resembles traits of a lynx, especially with its short tufted ears. Thus, the suffix "lynx" has been chosen. "Flarelynx" captures the fiery essence of a wolf-lynx hybrid.

The suffix "nox" is derived from the Latin word for night, suggesting the deep, dark depths of the ocean where many whales are known to dive. Together, "Aquanox" subtly hints at the nature of a deep-sea, water-based creature.

4 - Voltbun ---- The character clearly exhibits characteristics of a rabbit with its long ears and paws. Given the electric theme, the prefix "Volt" indicates voltage or electricity. The suffix "bun" is a short form of "bunny", a common term for rabbits. Combining these elements, "Voltbun" encapsulates both the rabbit nature of the character and its electric essence.

Hive Power Up Day - November 1st 2023

For the Fire Wolf: In reference to Skoll, the wolf from Norse mythology who chased the sun across the skies, I thought I'd use variations of the name skoll, starting with the first evolution, mixing skoll and puppy, making Skollpy.
For the second evolution I thought of an already formed and ferocious wolf using the mixture between Skoll and atrox which is ferocious in Latin, thus becoming Skollatrox.
For the third evolution (would it be the last?) I thought of a kind of strong, fierce and flaming fire wolf walking on 2 legs with limbs that allow it to fight as well as release fire and the name would be WereSkoll.

Skollpy->Skollatrox->WereSkoll

My input for the contest. My main focus was to choose names that are easy to pronounce for gamers/streamers, etc and convey the meaning and appearance of each creature

• For the Fire Wolf: Furfurnace

Because it's a cute name, easy to pronounce and includes the fire element in it

• For the Grass Racoon: Furiroot

Because it's easy to pronounce, takes into account the angry appearance of the racoon and includes the grass/land element indirectly.

• For the Water Whale: Bubblyu

Because it's quick and easy to pronounce, it is cute and takes into account the water element

• For the Electric Rabbit: Bolthop

Because it's quick and easy to pronounce and it includes both the electric element and the rabbit's tendency to...hop.

I loved each character, their designs are excellent and show part of each one's personality. Naming them is not easy but I think that these names are good and can be combined without much difficulty at the time of their evolutions, also they have an easy pronunciation for any language.

Based on that I present my choices:

#1- Flawy

#2- Mapiur

#3- Whabit

#4- Kiribolt

Each name has something of the design, for example Flawi I used "Fla" for flame, as it is a fire element the flame is part of its composition.

In Mapiur I used "Map" as initials for the raccoon in my language.

In Whabit I did the same for the whale initials.

And Kiribolt I tried to do something similar to Flawi, "Bolt" at the end because it has to do with thunder or lightning, and as it is part of its element I decided to put it as part of the name.

The endings as such do not have a specific meaning, but it was a combination of names to give it a good sound.

In case one of them is chosen I can collaborate with the name of the evolutions.

Fire Wolf: Burning Wuu
Grass Raccoon: Growing Coo
Water Whale: Swiming Waa
Electric Rabbit: Flowing Raa

I can as well create some beer names, but I think it does not fit to the game.
Lemmi know if you like to integrate the beer token for any reason to that game.

So my ideas are....

I also came up with a name for Starters.
It was quite difficult.

#1 Fire Wolf

I think this boy will go into the fire and eat whatever is burning on its own.
Let's go with feartin because he's a fire-eating wolf.

#2 Grass Raccoon

His eyes are sharp and this outfit is kind of ninja-like
It's a Ninja raccoon, so it's Jaraccon!

#3 Water Whale

Great whales leaping in the sky.
So, let's make it whalea.

#4 Electric Rabbit

He is mischievous and loves to punch!
