A Moneyphilic Hobby

Having a hobby for me is a way to escape from all the worries of doing something perfectly because it is something you do and it just feels right, always. I do have quite a lot of hobbies and more that I know I'm even yet to discover because I do believe that my environment right now is limiting me to a great length but then I happy I still have what I do that gives me joy. At some point I get confused about what my hobbies are because it sometimes feels like an habit, I think it is an habitual hobby, hehe.

In this blog, I will be sharing a little more about my hobby and also how I get to earn income from it. Although as for the income part it is not so much and that's because that's what I want. I do believe that hobbies should be something we do without expecting to make money off it but then sometimes our hobbies are just naturally moneyphilic (money loving). Like I mentioned earlier, I do have quite a few hobbies but over time, I've come to realize that there is just one hobby that I'm totally inclined to and that is....

Wait! Before that, let's get to hear a few background story of my hobby shall we?

Yeah, it all started with when I was just a little girl living with my dad and my siblings. My dad was a very busy man but then he always made sure to spare out some time for his children. He took care of almost everything we needed before going to work every day and there were days when he even work overnight he still made the necessary provisions for us to be comfortable and not miss him so much. At some point I was not comfortable with my dad doing all of the shores all by himself and I think that was the main thing that ignited my hobby which to so many is a lot of work.

So what is my hobby? I can hear you whispering that, hehe

Well, that hobby is CLEANING! Tada, yeah I know some might have been able to guess it correctly because this is not the first time I'm mentioning my hobbies. So yes, I do love cleaning a lot and it's something that comes to me naturally, I'm not a professional cleaner but then once I start cleaning I can't rest until everywhere is looking all clean(I don't do it all the time). Now, there is another interesting story about this hobby of mine and I'm very sure you are totally interested in knowing that story too so let's get to know it...

After I finished my senior secondary school examination, I was just at home and I knew I needed some money to assist in any little way I could and just then, I saw a job offer and guess what it was, it was a job offer for a cleaner, more like a nanny. I was nervous and anxious at first but then deep down I knew I wanted that job because it was something I loved doing. At this point, I was in a crossroad because I knew my dad would not be in support of it but I wanted to do it. So I told my siblings about it and they encouraged me to go for it if that's what I wanted.

Well in a nutshell, I accepted the job and I did a great job because my employer always commended me after every day's job. He was literally amazed by what I do because when I went for the interview I told him I've never done that job before and from my body statue I was looking so small and weak, lol. I had fun working there and at some point, I even forgot it was a job and I just took care of the house like my personal house and it made me felt a lot comfortable and efficient.

In the end my hobby paid off, not just for the money but also for the experience. Now if I want to ever work as a cleaner elsewhere, I can get a recommendation from somewhere to prove I'm capable for the job and I think that's the highlight for me. My hobby is one that can give me a fulfilled mind and also put food on the table, how amazing! I must say I'm really blessed and I'm grateful to God for blessing me with so much goodness.
