OUR JOURNEY JOINING DSPC 2024 - Part 1
Hello, my lovely Hivers! How are you all doing? I hope you're all doing great! For today's blog , I’m excited to share with you the story of my very first competition, the (DSPC) Division Schools Press Conference 2024.
As a matter of fact, I never thought I would be part of something like this, so I was really surprised and happy when Sir Lee chose me to represent our school. I am assigned as a news writer in filipino .
Since I was in elementary school, I’ve always wanted to join a competition, and it is one of my dream, but I never really expected it to happen.
It was dawn when we headed to Consolacion, where the (DSPC)Division Schools Press Conference was being held. which I was really excited about since it was my first time competing, and we were going to stay there for four days.
Some of the dspc participants decided to sleep over at the school the night before, which I found funny because, they ended up finishing everything later than expected. HAHAHA, just kidding!
As we headed to Consolacion, I felt nervous and excited.
The place had beautiful mountains, and everything looked so nice and peaceful. The breeze felt warm and comforting.
After that, we went to Arcelo Memorial National High School for a quick visit since this was where we would be competing. When we got there, we were surprised by how big the school was.
We put on our DSPC shirts to take some pictures together. We didn’t stay at Arcelo Memorial National High School for too long.
Then, we headed to the school where we would be staying for the next four days. since it was just a short distance we just walk from Arcelo Memorial Nation High School.
While we were walking, we decided to take a photo. I felt so grateful and happy at that moment.
This school was also quiet big, and it was where the sports writing competition would take place.
It seemed like the schools staying here had an advantage because they were already familiar with the sports they would be writing about.
When we arrived, we started exploring the school. The school was bigger than I expected, and there were many other schools staying there too.
We returned to our room and started talking about the event. The competition was set to begin at 1 p.m. with the opening ceremony for the DSPC.
So before we head on, to the event we must eat our breakfast to make sure we had enough energy for the day ahead.
And we are just relaxing here and waiting for our time so we could go on the event because we were excited. There were teachers who cooked meals for us, and we were really grateful for that.
The meal for today's lunch, was so yummy this is the viand I want the chicken. I was so happy that this is what our meal because it will energize me more.
After our lunch, we then prepare because we're heading to the place where the opening was held for.
We took a group picture, so cute right? However, we weren’t complete in the photo because we were staying in separate rooms for boys and girls. And we both preparing for the event.
We’re here at SM City Consolacion, where the opening of the DSPC is being held.
.We had to find a place to sit because the venue was sos crowded, but it was hard to hear the speaker clearly. So, we decided to take notes.
We were hungry at that moment, so we decided to explore SM City Consolacion. We went to the second floor and found a milk tea shop with a new flavor, matcha, which is a favorite of my friend. She decided to buy one.
Since we felt a bit left out because our group was split up and some of our friends were having a photo booth. We decided to do a photo booth of our own as well.
After that, we all met up and talked about what had happened with each group earlier. We also shared the shawarma that one of our friends had bought.
It was getting late and we were exhausted from exploring SM City Consolacion.
The sky looks so pretty today, and I couldn't help but took a picture of it. Even my camera is bad.
We were already on the jeep, and the fare was 15 pesos.
After that, we took a tricycle and the fare was 10 php, because it was too far to walk, especially since it was already nighttime.
When we arrived, we started eating right away. The food was so tasty, and I really enjoyed our meal. We were eating in the gym because it was peaceful and calm there.
After a while, we practiced news writing. My teammate, who is also a news writer like me but in english category.
After a while, Sir Lee called us for a meeting to help us prepare for our contest. He gave us some useful tips and advice.
And that's all for today's blog my lovely hivers!! This is what our day 1 looks like. I hope you enjoy reading my blog.Thankyou for sticking till the end.!!! Godbless.
That was a fun and full of ganapan na araw, the competition for sure is nerve wracking once you're finally in there but good luck! And its good that you had a fun time too, despite your busyness about everything. ┏(^0^)┛
