Splinterlands Art Contest Week 319 - Fearsome Forest Guardian
Hello, Alien Art Hive/Splinterlands community!
I'm excited to participate in this week's Splinterlands Art Contest (Week 319) with my latest creation. Inspired by the mysterious and formidable creatures of the Splinterlands universe, I present to you the "Fearsome Forest Guardian."
About the Artwork:
This piece features a green-skinned, fierce-looking creature that I envision as a guardian of ancient forests. The creature has wild, tangled hair with shades of green and purple, symbolizing its deep connection with nature. Its piercing orange eyes and sharp fangs give it a menacing look, ready to defend its territory against any intruders. The detailed texture of its skin and hair showcases the creature’s raw and untamed essence, embodying the spirit of the wild.
The Creative Process:
Creating this piece was a thrilling journey. I used a variety of colored pencils to achieve the vibrant and textured look. The mix of green and purple hues brings out the creature’s enigmatic nature, while the intricate line work captures its fierce and unyielding character. I aimed to blend elements of fantasy and realism to give this guardian a lifelike yet mythical presence.

My name is Ruhina, and I’m thrilled to be here. I’m from India, a country rich in art, culture, and history, and I’m so excited to share my journey with you all. Art has been a huge part of my life, and teaching it allows me to explore, inspire, and grow along with my students. Now, through this platform, I hope to share this love for art with an even wider audience.
Why I Joined Hive
For a while now, I’ve been following some of my friends who are active here on Hive. Watching them share their work, skills, and ideas with such an engaged, creative community has been inspiring. It’s amazing to see how Hive brings together people from different parts of the world, all eager to share their talents, support each other, and learn along the way.
Their posts—whether showcasing art, sharing personal stories, or joining contests—showed me the strange yet wonderful satisfaction that comes from putting yourself out there. I wanted to experience that same feeling of connection and fulfillment, and Hive seemed like the perfect place to start.
About Me: A Teacher and Artist
I’m an art teacher by profession, which means I get to spend each day working with students who are exploring their creativity for the first time. Teaching has been incredibly rewarding, as it lets me guide them through the basics, watch them grow, and see the unique ideas they bring to life. Art isn’t just about techniques and skills—it’s also about the joy of expressing something that words can’t always capture. And that’s the part of art that I want to share with all of you here.
My own art style ranges from traditional to digital art, depending on the mood and the story I want to tell. I’m drawn to creating powerful, expressive figures and vibrant scenes that capture both emotion and movement. I believe art is not just a skill but a way to communicate one’s inner world, and I’m always on the lookout for ways to expand my own style and improve my technique.
What I Plan to Share on Hive
Since this is my very first post, let me give you a little preview of what you can expect from me here on Hive.
Original Artwork and Creations: I’ll be sharing my personal art pieces, both traditional and digital, with explanations of my creative process and the thoughts that inspire each piece. Whether it’s a quick sketch or a detailed painting, each piece is a part of me that I’m eager to put into the world.
Art Contests and Community Challenges: I’ve already seen that Hive hosts a variety of art contests and challenges, and I can’t wait to participate! This will be a fantastic way to push my own creativity while also engaging with the amazing artists here. I’ll be sharing my entries for contests and challenges, hoping to add my unique touch to the mix.
Art Tutorials and Tips: As an art teacher, I’d love to offer some tutorials or creative tips that might help beginners or anyone looking to try something new. These could range from basics in sketching and shading to digital techniques, storytelling, or even how to find inspiration when facing an art block. I hope these posts can be helpful to those who are passionate about learning.
Exploring the Gaming World: Besides art, I’m also fascinated by the gaming world. I’ve noticed that Hive has a vibrant gaming community, and I’d love to explore and get involved. Games offer an entirely different platform for creativity, and I’m excited to share my experiences and maybe even connect with fellow gamers.
My Goals on Hive
One of my biggest goals here on Hive is to not only showcase my art but to connect with like-minded people who understand the joys and struggles of the creative process. Art, in many ways, is a journey of constant growth. Being part of a community that values creativity, engagement, and support is a huge motivator for me.
By joining in on the art contests and gaming platforms, I hope to challenge myself, take part in fun competitions, and learn from everyone around me. It’s not just about the final artwork or winning a contest—it’s about the fun of creating, sharing, and engaging with a global community of artists and creatives.
